  • Patent number: 4786945
Abstract: There is disclosed a microfilm reader-printer which permits to be set a number of pages of printing which exceeds a maximum number of pages of continuous printings of the printer body. The printer body outputs a completion signal to a device which set the number of pages of printing when printing is completed. The device sends a print request signal to the printer body every time when it receives a complete signal, until completion of printing for the set number of pages. The printer body completes the printing operation once for each maximum continuous number of pages of printing, but resumes printing if a print request signal is outputted successively.

  • Patent number: 4779119
Abstract: A cleaner unit is disclosed with a rubbery elastic cleaning blade. The blade extends horizontally from an upright base member, where the cleaning edge contacts a vertically downward passing photoconductive surface such that toner scraped from the surface travels over the upper face of the blade without causing a toner cloud. The removed toner is guided over this upper surface of the cleaning blade through the use of seals along the cleaning blade edge and outside the image carrying area of the photoconductive surface, as well as through the use of toner guiding grooves between the end seals.

  • Patent number: 4775875
Abstract: A mechanism for toning electrostatic images has two storage means for developer containing toner of different characteristics, for example, different colors. A rotational applicator rotates in one direction to transport developer from one storage, past the other storage, to a development zone and back to the storage. The applicator moves in the opposite direction to similarly transport developer from the other storage. A shield blocks the unused storage means in each mode. By transporting developer past the unused storage means on the way to the development zone, the developer can simply fall into the appropriate storage means on leaving the development zone.

  • Patent number: 4750020
Abstract: A sheet feeding apparatus suitable for use in combination with an imaging system, such as a copier or printer, for feeding sheets of paper one by one to the imaging system is provided. The apparatus includes a predetermined path along which a sheet of paper is transported and a sensor for detecting the presence of a sheet of paper in a predetermined region of the path. When paper jamming of another sheet of paper is detected, if the sensor detects the presence of a sheet of paper in the predetermined region, a controller controls such that the sheet of paper in the predetermined region is transported in the reversed direction so that the sheet of paper is returned to a paper storing section for use in the next cycle of operation. With such a structure, any sheet of paper left unused in the travelling path when paper jamming of another sheet of paper has occurred is automatically returned to its storage so that the operator is not required to remove this unused sheet of paper.
