  • Patent number: 11895059
Abstract: A guard period for switching between uplink and downlink subframes is created by shortening a downlink subframe, i.e., by not transmitting during one or more symbol intervals at the end of the subframe. A grant message includes signaling indicating when a shortened subframe is being transmitted. An example method is implemented in a receiving node configured to receive data from a transmitting node in subframes having a predetermined number of symbol intervals. In an LTE system, this receiving node may be a UE, and the subframes are downlink subframes. This example method includes determining that a received subframe is to be shortened, relative to the predetermined number of symbol intervals and, in response to this determination, disregarding a last part of the received subframe by disregarding one or more symbols at the end of the received subframe when processing the received subframe.

  • Patent number: 11895645
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for user equipment and/or network nodes. An example method performed by a network node includes providing a shared resource to a plurality of user equipments (UEs) that are active on a bandwidth part (BWP). The network node receives a Scheduling Request (SR) on the shared resource of the BWP, and responsive to the SR, assigns one or more grants to one or more of the plurality of UEs that are provided with the shared resource. The network node monitors another resource, for a time window after the assigning of the one or more grants, and after receiving a transmission on the monitored resource from a UE, provides the UE with a dedicated resource on the BWP.

  • Patent number: 11888585
Abstract: A network subscriber of an automation communication network is provided to exchange data with further network subscribers in the automation communication network at a predetermined clock frequency. The network subscriber has an internal clock for synchronizing the data exchange with at least one other network subscriber. The internal clock is embodied to provide a time as an integer count value. The clock frequency is determined in such a way that a period duration per clock pulse cannot be represented as an integer count value by the internal clock. A method of operating the network subscriber in the automation communication network comprises the following method step: the internal clock is incremented with a predetermined sequence of integer increments. The sequence of integer increments is predetermined such that a sum of the integer increments corresponds to an integer multiple of the period duration.

  • Patent number: 11871340
Abstract: Network nodes and methods for control thereof for dynamic network slice selection. An AMF receives a UE request originating from the UE, the UE request being any one of a registration request and a session request. A network slice requester controls a transmitter to transmit a network slice selection request to a PC_NSS. A selection data manager of the PC_NSS determines selection data specifying one or more UE specific parameters affecting network slice selection. A network slice selector selects a network slice assignable for the UE, based on the selection data, determines network slice data and a corresponding network slice routing rule, and transmits them to the AMF. A network slice manager of the AMF controls assignment of a network slice to the UE in dependence on the received network slice data and network slice routing rule.

  • Patent number: 11864216
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may be configured with one or more semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations. A base station may transmit a first downlink control information (DCI) transmission to the UE that activates an SPS configuration, and the first DCI may indicate a non-numeric feedback timeline for reporting associated acknowledgment feedback. The base station may transmit a subsequent second DCI transmission that provides feedback resources, and the UE may receive the second DCI and identify timing and resources for SPS acknowledgment feedback based on the second DCI. The UE may then transmit the acknowledgment feedback for one or more SPS transmissions in the feedback resources that are indicated by the second DCI transmission.

  • Patent number: 11863299
Abstract: A shared bus time interleaves 1 PPS signal and control and coordination information between a primary timing source and line cards that need to be synchronized using the 1 PPS signals. The shared bus utilizes 1 second frames divided into time slots. The 1 PPS signals are interleaved at predetermined locations in the frame so the delays introduced by interleaving the 1 PPS data in time can be precisely removed. While the bus is not being used for 1 PPS signals, the bus is available to send control and coordination information between the line cards and the primary timing source, avoiding the use of another system and increasing utilization of an available communication path.
