  • Patent number: 11323865
Abstract: A system is described for tracking vehicle position using a smart phone or similar device as an active transponder that communicates with roadside equipment. The system may uses existing RF transceivers on the smart-phone, such as Bluetooth® LE or WiFi to periodically transmit an identifying message. Road-based equipment detects and locates the smart phone. In a further aspect, the smart phone is alerted by roadside beacons and responds with identification information. Transaction processing may be performed either on the smart phone or by roadside or back office equipment. The system may be used for automated roadway tolling and monitoring and also for access control. A coded card may be scanned by the smart card to enter identification for access control.

  • Patent number: 11317748
Abstract: A programmable locking assembly for an insulated enclosure such as a food delivery box that can be unlocked by the recipient of the box, by pressing a number code on the keypad of the lock, causing a locking finger to slide out from a zipper pull on the lid of the insulated enclosure to allow the recipient unzip the lid to have access to the contents of the enclosure, thereby preventing the food delivery person to access the contents of the enclosure while in route to making the delivery. The number code is texted to the recipient from the sender of the enclosure. In an alternate embodiment, an audio tone can open the lock without the user needing to press numbers on the keypad.

  • Patent number: 11321576
Abstract: A distributed biometric vehicle entry system is configured to provide personalized biometric authentication for vehicle entry. The system utilizes an authentication token private key challenge generated a biometric wireless vehicle entry keypad, or a passive device such as a smartphone or fob, such that it would be insufficient for an intruder to simply jump the circuit with an external battery. The biometric authentication may be localized to an embedded system within the biometric vehicle entry keypad, and may be self-contained from all other vehicle systems with a wireless vehicle interface and independent power supply. The vehicle may grant access responsive to receiving the authentication token (and only the authentication token) whenever a valid biometric signature is recognized.

  • Patent number: 11315001
Abstract: An industrial system includes an electronic badge worn or otherwise transported by an industrial vehicle operator. The electronic badge has a housing, a processor, and a transceiver coupled to the processor that communicates on a personal-area network with a badge communicator that is provided on an industrial vehicle when the electronic badge and the badge communicator are in range of each other. Further, an activity sensor collects activity information about the industrial vehicle operator as the industrial vehicle operator performs work tasks. The electronic badge exchanges data collected by the activity sensor with the industrial vehicle, for communication to a remote server. An electronic message is communicated to the industrial vehicle for output to a display thereon, and the electronic message defines an assigned task that is based upon previously collected data from the activity sensor.

  • Patent number: 11276258
Abstract: An access card may store an encrypted operation key and a key used to read the encrypted operation key from the access card. The encrypted operation key and the key may be based on a unique identifier (UID) of the access card. The encrypted operation key may be obtained by encrypting an operation key using a cryptographic key that is also based on the UID of the access card. An access card reader may read the UID from the access card and use it to generate the key used to read the encrypted operation key from the access card. The access card read may also use the UID read from the access card to generate a cryptographic key used to decrypt the encrypted operation key. The access card reader may validate the decrypted operation key and determine whether to grant or deny access, for example, via an access control device.
