  • Patent number: 9807441
Abstract: A disclosed example may accurately start and stop a recording of an event based on accurate event scheduling information from a channel broadcaster. A start time and stop time for a recording of the event may be scheduled according to EPG data. In response to determining that the channel is a controlled channel, which includes accurate event scheduling information provided by a channel broadcaster, a recording may be initially scheduled for the event according to the EPG data with an extended duration of a predetermined time value. The digitally encoded transport stream may be continuously monitored to detect a new event and the detected new event may then be mapped to the event. As a result, the recording time of the event may be accurately updated by extracting a set of parameters from the accurate event schedule information of the new event.

  • Patent number: 9794509
Abstract: A video receiving device comprises a receiver, a transmitter, and at least one hardware processor. The receiver is configured to receive video data and first data from a video transmitting device. The hardware processor is configured to output a moving image, generated from the video data, to a display. The receiver further stops outputting the moving image based on the first data and outputs a static image to the display based on the first data when the receiver receives the first data. While the hardware processor outputs the moving image to the display, the static image is generated from the video data received by the receiver. The transmitter is configured to transmit second data to the video transmitting device based on the first data while the hardware processor outputs the moving image to the display. The second data causes the video transmitting device to stop transmitting the video data.

  • Patent number: 9791118
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a mobile light tower that utilizes multiple sources of energy to provide a highly energy efficient source of illumination. The lights of the light tower draw power from the energy stored in the batteries. During the day, solar energy can captured and stored in batteries. In times of cloud cover, or at night, wind energy can be captured and stored in the batteries. Additional alternative energy sources can also be incorporated. In the event that neither of these sources are sufficient, a fuel powered generator can be utilized to generate energy to be stored in the batteries.

  • Patent number: 9779597
Abstract: A method of operating a security system with deterrent capability is implemented through security cameras that are articulated and non-articulated, entry doors, and a control unit. The control unit is communicatively coupled with the security cameras and the entry doors as the control unit is supervised by a trained operator. The security cameras continuously send audio and video data to the control unit so that a threatening target can be identified before he or she can do any destruction. When the threatening target is identified, the entry doors are locked and electrified through the control unit in order to provide an initial defense system for the threatening target. Additional deterrence can be implemented at the threatening target through a less-lethal deterrence unit and non-lethal deterrence units of the articulated security cameras while the non-articulated security cameras provide surveillance of the threatening target to the control unit.

  • Patent number: 9762792
Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to adjusting the monitored field of view of a camera and/or a view of a virtual scene from a point of view of a virtual camera based on the distance between tracked objects. For example, if the user's hand is being tracked for gestures, the closer the hand gets to another object, the tighter the frame can becomeā€”i.e., the more the camera can zoom in so that the hand and the other object occupy most of the frame. The camera can also be reoriented so that the hand and the other object remain in the center of the field of view. The distance between two objects in a camera's field of view can be determined and a parameter of a motion-capture system adjusted based thereon. In particular, the pan and/or zoom levels of the camera may be adjusted in accordance with the distance.
