  • Patent number: 8949050
Abstract: An energy usage data visualization process includes receiving an energy data presentation request from a user, processing the energy data presentation request by the customer portal service module, and retrieving energy usage data associated with the energy data presentation request. The energy usage data is retrieved from a storage device, which is communicatively coupled to the customer portal service module. The service module produces a visual output based upon the presentation request and the retrieved energy usage data. The service module produces the visual output for presentation onto the display of the end user interface, by using an energy data visualization template of a template module application. The template module application is determined by the energy data presentation request, and is stored on the customer portal service module. The customer portal service module has a housing that is separate from the housing of the end user device.

  • Patent number: 8909500
Abstract: Method and system for measuring an angle between a first member and a second member under dynamic conditions is provided. A first and second acceleration sensor and an angle measuring device (goniometer) are connected to the first and second member. Under dynamic and static conditions, the angle (?) is measured by the goniometer. Under static conditions, the inclination angle of the first member is measured using the first acceleration sensor and the inclination angle of the second member using the second acceleration sensor and the angle (??) between the first and second members is calculated. Then the deviation is calculated between the angle (?) and the angle (??). An error correction factor is calculated from the deviation between both angles (?,??). The error correction factor is applied to future and/or previous measurements of the angle (?) between the first and second member done by the goniometer.

  • Patent number: 8909480
Abstract: A vibrator-coupled ground filter improves seismic data recorded during a seismic operation. This filter is based on a ground model that takes into consideration the vibrator system, the coupling system between the baseplate and captured ground, and the coupled ground system. Using acceleration data from the baseplate and the reaction mass, the ground model can be used to derive particular variables for the ground model to help characterize the system. Using the derived variables in a ground filter, the recorded seismic data can be corrected to remove errors in the trace data produced by typical assumptions.

  • Patent number: 8903672
Abstract: Calibration equipment for calibrating multiple test stations in a test system is provided. Each test station may include a test unit, a test fixture, and a radio-frequency (RF) cable that connects the test unit to the test fixture. A control test setup may be used to calibrate uplink and downlink characteristics associated with each test station (e.g., to determine path loss associated with the RF cable and test fixture and variations associated with the test unit). The control test setup may calibrate each test station at desired frequencies to generate a test station error (offset) table. The test unit of each test station may be individually configured based on the test station error table so that offset is minimized among the different stations and so that the test stations may reliably measure hundreds or thousands of wireless electronic devices during product testing.

  • Patent number: 8903675
Abstract: A waveform generator and a signal analyzer are respectively provided in electrical communication with an input transducer and an output transducer capable of conversion between electrical and acoustic signals, and in mechanical communication with a part. A processor coupled with the waveform generator and signal analyzer receives a set of parameters defining a frequency scan from which it determines a number of frequency sweeps to be performed by the waveform generator. Each of the frequency sweeps has a number of frequencies less than a maximum capacity of the waveform generator, and for each frequency sweep, the processor instructs the waveform generator to excite the input transducer and synchronously receiving a response signal with the signal analyzer at multiple frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8849572
Abstract: An apparatus for determining the concentration of a conductive fluid present in a fluid filled bore hole is described. Such apparatus are known as water hold-up meters and are frequently used in oil, gas and water filled bore holes. In bore hole applications, data bandwidth between a down hole device and the surface can be limited, while determining water hold-up based on down hole measurements can be data intensive. A technique is proposed for calculating the water hold up that requires less data to be transmitted between the down hole device and the surface.
