Abstract: A high-strength ribbon loop anchor and cavity wall anchoring system employing the same is disclosed. The ribbon loop anchor is a wire formative construct that is cold-worked with the resultant body having substantially semicircular edges and flat surfaces therebetween. The edges are aligned to receive compressive forces transmitted from the facing wall. The ribbon loops hereof, when part of the anchoring system, interengage with the veneer tie and are dimensioned to preclude significant movement lateral with or normal to the inner wythe.

Abstract: A protective covering helps to prevent fastener leaks from roof installed fasteners, which are used to mount roofing systems, such as a solar panel installation system, to roofs with a mounting bracket attached to the roof. The protective covering is a portion of flat, malleable waterproof material molded to form a cover, forming a rounded or peaked triangular-shaped structure when viewed from the side. The triangular shaped structure includes a base and a hypotenuse portion where the line of the roof acts as a side which is covered by at least the hypotenuse portion. The hypotenuse portion meets the roof at an angle. The covering is adapted for insertion under portions of a roof shingle, and extends back in a slight rise (downwardly with respect to the root) to cover the fastener and L-shaped bracket, which the fastener fastens to the roof.
Abstract: Deployable units and systems made of deployable units are described. The units have a retractable brace transitioning from a retracted condition to a deployed condition through a gravity driven movement, a latching arrangement contacting the brace and keeping the brace in position when the brace is in the deployed condition, and a guiding arrangement to guide the movement of the brace. The systems comprise plural deployable units to be arranged in a building structure, each unit to be located in a respective bay per story space of the building structure.

Abstract: An aircraft including a fuselage that includes a floor extending in the longitudinal plane of the fuselage and separating a first space from a second space accommodated in the fuselage. The first space includes a fuselage portion having a length essentially equal to the width of the floor along the fuselage cross-section, and the distance between the fuselage portion and the floor is essentially constant along the width.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the anchoring in rigid ground such as decks or floors made of concrete, asphalt, rock etc., for support posts for safety barriers and parapets, by means of bolts partly embedded in the ground and fixed to same by chemical or mechanical means, whose emergent part successively traverses the anchor plate of the post of the barrier, one or more washers and closure nuts which are what fix the bolt to the anchor plate. The washers present the capacity to behave as fusible elements which, in the event of a vertical load due to traction greater than a defined value, are deformed and traversed by the closure nut which, once released from the washer, traverses the corresponding hole of the anchor plate, which is of a size greater than that of the closure nut, with the union between the plate and bolt thus becoming decoupled.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer room which is surrounded by a lower floor, at least one side wall and a roof, with an air-permeating load-bearing floor disposed above the lower floor, on which, in use, computer equipment is disposed. A separation arrangement provides for the separation from each other of a riser channel for hot air above the computer equipment on the one hand and a return channel for air being carried back from the top of the computer room to the space under the load-bearing floor on the other hand. The surface area of the return channel of a cross-section of the computer room amounts to at least 5% of the surface area of the riser channel of the same cross-section.
Abstract: A building system (38) is disclosed in the form of a standing seam panel assembly (80) and one or more mounting devices (40). The mounting device (40) includes a slot (52) for receiving at least an upper section of a hollow seam rib (86) of the panel assembly (80). At least one opposing pair of seam fasteners (74) engage opposing sides of the seam rib (86). These seam fasteners (74) may be activated to significantly reduce the size of an open space that initially exists between opposing, spaced internal surfaces (92a, 92b) of the seam rib (86).

Abstract: An elongate profile element has a bottom, sidewalls extending from the bottom substantially at right angles and an upper side opposite the bottom. The upper side comprises flanges which extend from the respective sidewalls towards each other and delimit between them a longitudinal slot extending over the length of the profile element. The flanges are bended inwards such that the free end of the flanges is directed towards the bottom and extends in a direction substantially at right angles with the bottom. The bottom is provided with spaced apart oblong recesses, which have longitudinal side edges which are bended inwards such that the free end of said edges extends towards the upper side in a direction substantially at right angles with the bottom.
Abstract: The window system has a substantially rectangular frame structure having four corner sections (1b) and being adapted to be installed in a roof structure and a bracket arrangement comprising a set of bracket units (6b), each bracket unit including a base element (10b) mounted at each corner section of the frame structure. Each bracket unit furthermore comprises at least one supplemental element (20b,40b) adapted to be detachably connected to said base element. One supplemental element comprises a leg element (20b) adapted to be detachably connected to the base element, preferably rotatably and detachably connected with the base element.

Abstract: A head-of-wall joint for insulating the intersection between a wall assembly and the bottom of a floor or roof construction thereabove which utilizes an insulating gasket of a unique shape and construction positioned between the ceiling track and the point of intersection thereof with respect to the upper building floor or roof structure. The configuration of the insulating gasket member includes a main section and two side sections which extend over the outwardly facing surfaces of a conventionally configured ceiling track or runner without being attached to the ceiling track side panel side surfaces. The gasket can included tabs to attach to the lowermost edges of the track side sections. The gasket can be made from acoustically insulating materials or firestopping materials, or both.
Abstract: A method of constructing a building including erecting a plurality of truss elements to form a framework including one or more walls, a roof structure and a floor structure. Each truss element includes at least two joists and a plurality of braces that maintain the joists in a parallel arrangement, the truss elements being arranged in the framework to provide an inner joist and an outer joist. An inner covering layer and an outer covering layer are attached to the framework, thereby forming an enclosed void between the inner and outer covering layers that extends substantially continuously around the framework. An insulating material is injected into the void to form a substantially continuous insulating layer between the inner and outer layers.
Abstract: A blanket or curtain of flexible fire retardant material is collapsed and retained within a retaining housing construction positioned adjacent to a curtain wall assembly for firestop sealing thereover. The housing includes a safing angle member secured to the curtain wall assembly and a cover which releases responsive to sensing fire conditions to allow the firestopping blanket to deploy downwardly to extend between curtain wall framing members and be positioned extending across a curtain wall panel for fire protection thereover. Such curtain wall panels are commonly made of glass which tends to fracture during a hot fire. The cover will release the blanket responsive to controlled failure of fusible links which secure the cover to the safing angle member. After deployment the blanket will deflect fire and heat away from the curtain wall panel to prevent the spread of fire to adjacent floors.
