  • Patent number: 9075850
Abstract: A monitoring system quantifies either a configuration change or a status change of a monitoring target, and displays a change value thereof. Furthermore, the monitoring target refers to either a monitoring-target apparatus or a component of a monitoring-target apparatus. Moreover, in a case where multiple monitoring information acquisition intervals are used a change value may be computed and displayed for each of multiple monitoring targets. There may also be a case in which a time axis of a chronological graph of monitoring numeric values and a time axis of a chronological graph of change values are displayed collectively.

  • Patent number: 9037672
Abstract: A method for communication between computing devices includes identifying the parameters of a data transfer between a source computing device and a target computing device and identifying communication paths between a source computing device and target computing device, in which at least one of the communications paths is a physical network. A communication path is selected for the data transfer. When a data transfer over the physical network is selected as a communication path, a nonvolatile memory (NVM) unit is removed from the source computing device and placed in a cartridge and the cartridge is programmed with transfer information. The NVM unit and cartridge are transported through the physical network to the target computing device according to the transfer information and the NVM unit is electrically connected to the target computing device.

  • Patent number: 9032068
Abstract: A method performed in a network element for reacting to communication performance measurements that fall outside of communication performance thresholds. The network element generates a communication performance measurement between a first endpoint and a second endpoint, wherein each endpoint is a point of communication in the network and at least the first endpoint resides on the network element. The network element retrieves a communication performance threshold and determines whether the communication performance measurement falls outside of the communication performance threshold. The network element generates a trigger associated with the communication performance measurement and the communication performance threshold when it is determined that the communication performance measurement falls outside of the communication performance threshold.

  • Patent number: 9015304
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for supporting Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) request operations over clustered networking devices. The system includes a cluster that includes a plurality of intermediary devices and an SNMP agent executing on a first intermediary device of the plurality of intermediary devices. The SNMP agent receives an SNMP GETNEXT request for an entity. Responsive to receipt of the SNMP GETNEXT request, the SNMP agent requests a next entity from each intermediary device of the plurality of intermediary devices of the cluster. To respond to the SNMP request, the SNMP agent selects a lexicographically minimum entity. The SNMP agent may select the lexicographically minimum entity from a plurality of next entities received via responses from each intermediary device of the plurality of intermediary devices.

  • Patent number: 8996652
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for using a cluster-based actor identifier in link aggregation control protocol communications between an actor comprising an intermediary device of a cluster of intermediary devices and a non-cluster aware device. The system and methods include a cluster of intermediary devices in communication with a link aggregation control protocol enabled network device that is unaware of the cluster. A first intermediary device of the cluster generates an actor identifier, based on a cluster identifier that identifies the cluster, for each of the intermediary devices of the cluster to use as a system identifier for link aggregation control protocol communications and one or more intermediary devices transmit to the network device a link aggregation control protocol data unit that advertises the actor identifier as the system identifier for establishing a link aggregation between the cluster and the network device.

  • Patent number: 8918502
Abstract: A method for determining the state of an entire network, including state of applications and infrastructure includes receiving network control messages in an OpenFlow network; passing normal network control messages through FlowSense, a control plane middleware, and constructing from the network control messages an application level connectivity graph to infer network delay between any two communicating server in the network and estimating an application response time of a given server in the network, the FlowSense including a network utilization procedure for computing the utilization of each link in the network derived from using captured messages triggered by switches when flow entries expire and providing state of the network for enabling intelligent detection and diagnosis of infrastructure and application performance.

  • Patent number: 8898307
Abstract: A computer implemented method of workload scheduling under two different types of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), namely soft and hard SLA which employ both a deadline- and cost-aware scheduler called iCBS-DH. The scheduler is evaluated against deadline and cost performance of various scheduling policies under a large range of SLA cost function and deadline types.

  • Patent number: 8892650
Abstract: To provide a sponsored story unit, the social networking system receives a story request from an advertiser. The story request specifies properties of content used to generate the sponsored story. When the social networking system stores an object or an action performed on an object, properties associated with, and describing, the object or the action are also stored. For example, properties of an object include an object type, an object identifier, metadata describing the object or other suitable information. The social networking system identifies actions or objects associated with users connected to a viewing user having one or more properties included in a story request. A sponsored story is generated from the identified actions or objects and presented to a viewing user.

  • Patent number: 8788695
Abstract: An intermediate device receives a content data message addressed to a receiving device for a communication session between a source device and the receiving device. The intermediate device substitutes adapted content data for content data of the content data message and then sends the adapted content data to the receiving device such that it appears to the receiving device that the adapted content data originated from the source device. The communication from the source device to the receiving device is intercepted by the intermediate device in a manner that is transparent to the source device and receiving device.
