  • Patent number: 12128540
Abstract: A quick release mechanism includes a male member including a locking pin, a female member including a cavity for receiving the male member, a locking joint on the female member including a longitudinal bore for receiving the male member, a longitudinal slit for receiving the locking pin, and a locking recess for capturing the locking pin, a spring within the cavity for securing the locking pin within the locking recess, and a bearing enabling rotation of the male member within the cavity. The male member engages the female member by guiding the locking pin into the slit and compressing the spring until the locking pin is released from the slit into the cavity. The locking pin is then able to shift into the locking recess by rotating the male member. The spring exerts a force onto the male member to maintain the locking pin within the locking recess.

  • Patent number: 12122041
Abstract: A tool changer is described, the tool changer includes a robot-side portion having a longitudinal axis and fixable to a manipulator, and a tool-side portion fixable to a tool and abuts against the robot- side portion along the longitudinal axis. The tool changer also includes a lock to lock the tool-side portion on the robot-side portion, and an actuator of the lock. The lock is selectively movable by the actuator between a locked position, where it engages the tool-side portion that abuts against the robot-side portion, thereby preventing the separation of the two portions of the tool changer, and an unlocked position, where it does not engage the tool-side portion, which can therefore be separated from the robot- side portion. The actuator of the lock is an electric motor whose drive shaft rotates on a rotation axis parallel to the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 12059732
Abstract: Machine chuck jaws, and a related method of manufacture, are provided. The machine chuck jaws are formed from an additive manufacturing process and include one or more gripping pads per chuck jaw. An axial stop is also formed from an additive manufacturing process and provides a flat surface for workpiece placement. The gripping pads equally distribute the clamping pressure, and the additive manufacturing process provides unique shaping capabilities and a honeycomb internal cross-section, thereby achieving a lightweight design. The reduction in weight allows for a decrease in pneumatic pressure used to actuate the jaws, resulting in a corresponding reduction in the clamping pressure which helps improve the form of the workpiece being machined.
