  • Patent number: 7081695
Abstract: The present invention provides for a fitted wedge wherein a formed outer frame is loosely fitted into a desired gap. The formed outer frame contains a lateral gap such that the formed outer frame is substantially or completely divided into two halves. A thin, stiff sheet coated with a resin saturated felt is then inserted between the two halves of the outer frame. The two halves are pushed apart, snuggly fitting the formed outer frame into place. The resin in the felt is then cured, forming a single, snuggly fit wedge.

  • Patent number: 7075204
Abstract: An inner sleeve, having threads on each end, is formed on a motor or generator rotor. A pair of stub shafts are threadably attached to the inner sleeve at each end and a magnet is placed in between. The stub shafts are turned on the inner sleeve to bring them together, thereby creating an axial compressive force on the magnet. By keeping the magnet in a compressive state at all times, cracking of the magnet is prevented, thus keeping the rotor stable during use of the motor or generator. An outer sleeve is shrunk-fit around the magnet and stub shafts to provide a further radial force on the rotor. The magnet assembly of the present invention also enlarges the required radial shrink-fit tolerance of the outer sleeve on the magnet, thereby reducing costs conventionally required to match the outer sleeve to the magnet within close tolerances.

  • Patent number: 7075199
Abstract: Disclosed are a reciprocating motor and a reciprocating compressor having the same. The reciprocating motor comprises: an outer stator; an inner stator arranged at an inner circumferential surface of the outer stator with an air gap and at which a winding coil is wound; and a magnet arranged between the outer stator and the inner stator and linearly-moved when a power is applied to the winding coil. The winding coil is installed at the inner stator thus to reduce a usage amount of the coil, thereby reducing a fabrication cost of a motor. Also, a resistance of the coil is reduced thereby to enhance an efficiency of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7064468
Abstract: A brush-less motor includes a rotor with a magnet alternately magnetized N pole and S pole in a rotating direction, and a core with plural salient poles on which coils are wound. The core faces the magnet to form a magnetic circuit. Each one of the salient poles are toothed and provided with small teeth at an edge facing the magnet. The small teeth have a pitch corresponding to two poles of the magnet. Powering to the coil responsive to a rotor position drives the rotor. This structure substantially increases volumetric efficiency of the motor.
