  • Patent number: 9264196
Abstract: A reference signal transmission method in a downlink MIMO system is disclosed. The downlink MIMO system supports a first UE supporting N transmission antennas among a total of M transmission antennas (where M>N) and a second UE supporting the M transmission antennas. The method includes transmitting, by a base station (BS), subframe-associated information which designates a first subframe in which data for the first UE and the second UE is transmitted and a second subframe in which data only for the second UE can be transmitted within a radio frame having a plurality of subframes, and transmitting the first subframe and the second subframe. Reference signals corresponding to antenna ports ‘0’ to ‘N?1’ of the N antennas are mapped to the first subframe, and reference signals corresponding to antenna ports ‘0’ to ‘M?1’ of the M antennas are mapped to the second subframe.

  • Patent number: 9262484
Abstract: A similarity measure is computed between nodes of first and second networks. Sets of pairwise scores are computed to find nodes in the individual networks that are good matches to one another. A pairwise score is computed for a node i in the first network and a node j in the second network. Similar pairwise scores are computed for each of the nodes in each network. The process identifies node pairs that exhibit high pairwise values. Preferably, nodes i and j are a good match if their neighbors are a good match. This technique produces a measure of network similarity. If node feature data is available, nodes i and j are considered a good match if their neighbors are a good match (network similarity) and their node features are a good match (node similarity). Using the similarity scores, a common subgraph between the first and second networks is computed.

  • Patent number: 9258218
Abstract: A software-defined network overlay capability is configured to control one or more overlay networks using software-defined networking (SDN) in which control functions and forwarding functions are separated. The software-defined network overlay capability may be configured to vertically move packets across network layers, e.g., into an overlay network (e.g., into a tunnel via encapsulation), out of an overlay network (e.g., out of a tunnel via decapsulation), or the like. The software-defined network overlay capability may be configured to move packets from native forwarding infrastructure into an overlay network, between overlay networks (e.g., into a first overlay network from a second overlay network without leaving the second overlay network, out of a first overlay network and into a second overlay network, out of a first overlay network while remaining within a second overlay network, or the like), from an overlay network onto native forwarding infrastructure, or the like.

  • Patent number: 9252905
Abstract: A radio network node antenna management system dynamically manages a multi-antenna structure (200). The multi-antenna structure (200) includes a set of n antennas with beamforming capability. The antenna management system monitors a condition in a radio network cell served by the radio network node. If the monitored condition is less than or equal to a predetermined criteria, a beamforming operation is disabled and a subset, less than n, of the set of n antennas is managed according to a predetermined antenna hopping pattern.

  • Patent number: 9203725
Abstract: It is disclosed a method for updating a cumulative residence time of a synchronization packet received at a node of a packet-switched communication network. The cumulative residence time is equal to a cumulative sum of residence times of the packet at nodes interposed between a further node which has generated the packet and the node. The node comprises an ingress circuit and an egress circuit. The method comprises: receiving the packet at the egress circuit from the ingress circuit; at a timestamp generator of the egress circuit, generating a timestamp; at the egress circuit, calculating a virtual timestamp based on the timestamp and on an estimated variable delay that will be undergone by the packet due to buffering in a buffer located downstream the timestamp generator; and, at the egress circuit, using the virtual timestamp for updating the cumulative residence time, before transmitting the packet to a still further node.

  • Patent number: 9203733
Abstract: The invention relates to the pseudo-dynamic routing in a cluster comprising nodes, of the static communication links connecting these nodes. The routing is based on load levels associated with the links. After having received (635) a list of node identifiers, these identifiers designating a set of nodes allotted to the execution of a task, a weight having a first predetermined value is assigned (655) to a pair formed of an identifier of a first and of a second node of said set of nodes, the first and second nodes being distinct, a weight having a second predetermined value, distinct from the first value, being assigned by default to the formed pairs of identifiers of nodes allotted to different tasks. The cluster is then routed, the routing comprising the selecting (610) of a route between the first and second nodes and the incrementing (625) of a load level associated with each link comprising the selected route of the first value.

  • Patent number: 9197756
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for providing enhanced services to telephone subscribers with multiple telephone lines, which can include one or more traditional telephone lines, wireless telephone lines, Internet protocol-based telephone lines, and/or the like. For example, certain tools can provide a subscriber with a unified voice mailbox for a plurality of the subscriber's telephone lines. In some cases, the subscriber does not need to check multiple voice mailboxes (each associated with one of the subscriber's telephone numbers) in order to ensure that the subscriber has received all messages intended for that subscriber. Instead, any incoming call on any of the subscriber's lines can be routed to a converged voice mailbox for easy retrieval by the subscriber of all messages from one location. Some tools employ a VoIP switch to handle routing of the incoming call to the correct voice mailbox.

  • Patent number: 9179370
Abstract: A target gateway operating in a target wireless network receives a request for transferring wireless service of a wireless device from a source access network to the target access network. The target gateway sends a handover initiate message comprising key information including an uplink key to a source gateway operating in the source access network. In response to the handover initiate message, the target gateway receives a handover acknowledgement message that includes user session information including session reference identifiers (SR-IDs) associated with multiple Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of the wireless device. • Patent number: 9172556
Abstract: An interfabric link between two separate Fiber Channel fabrics so that devices in one fabric can communicate with devices in another fabric without requiring the merger of the two fabrics. The interfabric switch performs a conversion or a translation of device addresses in each fabric so that they are accessible to the other fabric. In a first embodiment the external ports of the interfabric switch are configured as E_ports. A series of internal ports in each interfabric switch are joined together forming a series of virtual or logical switches. In a second embodiment the external ports are configured as NL_ports and the connections between the virtual switches are E_ports. The virtual switches in the interfabric switch match domains with their external counterparts so that the virtual switches effectively form their own fabric.

  • Patent number: 9148294
Abstract: A relay apparatus transfers data sent from a user terminal, to an external network, via any one of paths. A notification apparatus receives first disaster information including area information identifying first areas forecast to be affected by an occurrence of a disaster and prediction information storing, in association with each of the first areas, a predicted intensity value indicating a predicted value of an influence degree of the disaster on the each of the first areas. The notification apparatus generates, based on the first disaster information, second disaster information storing the predicted intensity value in association with each of second areas passed through by the paths. The relay apparatus switches the currently-used path to alternative path when it is determined that the predicted intensity value associated with at least one of third areas passed through by the currently-used path is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold value.
