Abstract: A transmitting UE may in a device-to-device (D2D) communication may identify a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence for a D2D transmission based at least in part on a subset of bits of a sidelink control information (SCI) transmission. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be selected such that the bits have sufficient variability to reduce the likelihood that multiple UEs may use the same DMRS sequence. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be all or a portion of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for the SCI.
Abstract: A transaction card may determine to initiate a mode associated with the transaction card. The mode may be related to locating the transaction card. The mode may be associated with outputting a first signal. The transaction card may determine a manner in which to configure the mode based on a set of parameters. The set of parameters may include a power level of the transaction card, or a strength of a second signal associated with a connection between the transaction card and a device associated with the transaction card. The transaction card may initiate the mode after configuring the mode. The transaction card may determine to terminate the mode based on an indication that the transaction card has been located.

Abstract: A wideband, radio-frequency localization system may estimate the one-dimensional, two-dimensional or three-dimensional position and trajectory of a static or moving object. These estimates may have a high spatial accuracy and low latency. The localization may be determined based on phase or amplitude of a wideband signal in each frequency band in a set of multiple frequency bands. The localization may be based on a single shot of measurements across a wide band of radio frequencies, without frequency hopping. The measurements of the wideband signal may be taken over time and over space at multiple receivers. The localization may be based on measurements taken while a backscatter node remains in a first reflective state or in a second reflective state, rather than when the backscatter node is transitioning between reflective states. In some cases, the localization achieves sub-centimeter spatial resolution in each of three spatial dimensions.

Abstract: A terminal of a communication system transmits a first signal through a physical uplink channel that is allocated within a first radio resource based on a first Transmission Time Interval (TTI) having a first time length at a first step for uplink access, performs the remaining steps for the uplink access using a second radio resource based on the second TTI from a base station, when the terminal may operate based on a second TTI having a second time length smaller than the first time length, and transmits uplink data.

Abstract: The Automated Content Upload System networks a plurality of aircraft together when they are parked at the gates of an airport. Communications among the aircraft are guided by a Content Manager, resident at or near the airport, which maintains data representative of InFlight Entertainment Content presently stored on each aircraft and the list of scheduled InFlight Entertainment Content available on each aircraft. The Content Manager guides the exchange of InFlight Entertainment Content among the aircraft, as well as from the Content Manager to the aircraft, to automatically distribute InFlight Entertainment Content to the aircraft efficiently and timely. This process includes the ability to multicast data from the Content Manager to multiple aircraft in a single transmission, obtaining content delivery efficiency, populating multiple aircraft via a single transmission from the Content Manager.

Abstract: Various embodiments, methods and systems for implementing a digital assistant connectivity system are provided. In operation, a request to receive a unique identifier is communicated from a digital assistant device. The unique identifier is utilized to pair the digital assistant device with a smart assistant device. The unique identifier is received from and generated by a digital assistant server to correspond with the digital assistant device and a corresponding digital assistant device application instance. An instruction to perform an action on the digital assistant device is received at the digital assistant device application. The instruction is communicated based on an established command-driven session between the digital assistant device application and the smart assistant device. The command-driven session is associated with the unique identifier that paired the digital assistant device and the smart assistant device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an operation mode in a mobile terminal provides the mobile terminal to determine whether a predetermined time has elapsed, after a lapse of which it enters a first power-saving mode, and drive a camera module if the predetermined time has elapsed. Meanwhile, the mobile terminal determines whether a predetermined subject is recognized by the camera module, and then delays changing to the first power-saving mode if the predetermined subject is recognized, and enters the first power-saving mode if the predetermined subject is not recognized.

Abstract: The remote biometric sensor may comprise a biometric sensor coupled to a phone via a cable and an application program running on the phone. The application program may disable selected features of the phone when the biometric sensor is plugged in to prevent use of the disabled features while driving. As non-limiting examples, the application program may disable texting and non-handsfree use of the phone for calls. The application program may enable one or more disabled features if a finger is placed upon the biometric sensor and the fingerprint read by the biometric sensor matches a learned fingerprint that is stored within the biometric sensor or within the application program's data area. The disabled features may remain enabled for as long as the finger is held against the biometric sensor.

Abstract: A mobile station transmits a first radio signal, a reference station transmits a second radio signal. Fixed stations extract phase differences (??mf1) to (??mf3), respectively, between a carrier included in the first radio signal and reference clocks of the respective fixed stations. The fixed stations extract phase differences (??sf1) to (??sf3), respectively, between a carrier included in the second radio signal and the reference clocks of the respective fixed stations. A server cancels phase offsets (?f1) to (?f3) of the respective fixed stations using phase difference information between the mobile station and each of the fixed stations and phase difference information between the reference station and each of the fixed stations, obtains distance information between each of the fixed stations and the mobile station, and calculates a position of the mobile station.
