Patent number: 4670939Abstract: A hydro-magnetic door hold open device. A piston on a piston rod is slideably mounted in a cylinder that is mounted eccentrically inside a housing. The piston rod extends out of the housing and connects to a hingedly mounted door so that opening or closing of the door effects reciprocation of the piston within the cylinder. Both the housing and the cylinder within it are filled with hydraulic fluid. A ball valve positioned forwardly of the piston is confined within a valve chamber that has three seats; the inner cylinder is provided with apertures on the rearward side of the piston and forwardly of the valve chamber so that the ball valve is carried by the fluid into either of two of the seats attendant piston advancement or retraction and maintained in such seat by a pressure differential established in the fluid by the travel of the piston.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1986Date of Patent: June 9, 1987Inventor: Samuel H. Patent number: 4667365Abstract: A caster wheel assembly which uses a mechanical brake to apply force in order to prevent shimmying at high speeds. A controller arrangement provides that no braking force is supplied until the vehicle reaches a preset speed. Thereafter, a predetermined amount of force is applied to the brakes. The predetermined force is great enough to prevent shimmying but low enough to permit the caster wheel mounting member to continue to rotate about its axis so that the vehicle may continue to be maneuvered even at high speeds.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1986Date of Patent: May 26, 1987Assignee: M-B Company, Inc. of WisconsinInventor: Norman A. Patent number: 4654929Abstract: Disclosed is a hinge repair assembly for correcting wear in the lower hinge of an automotive vehicle door, which wear occurs because of extended opening and closing of the door, with the result that the hinge pin hole (or holes) in the lowermost hinge ear (or ears) becomes ovalized and the door sags out of alignment with its striker and latching plates. The repair assembly includes a bearing block that is insertable in the space between the door ears and between the door edge and the hinge pin. The block is an upright groove that receives and forms a bearing surface for the hinge pin and a pair of ramp-faced members lying one at each side of the block and cross-connected screws which, when tightened, cause the block to ride forwardly on the ramp faces of the members to improve the bearing relation of the block to the hinge pin and restoring the hinge pin to its original position forwardly in the ovalized hole.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1986Date of Patent: April 7, 1987Inventors: Jesse L. Patent number: 4651801Abstract: An improved wax master tree used for precision casting is provided. The tree comprises a sprue rod and a plurality of wax masters attached to the sprue rod by fusing. In the improved wax master tree of the invention, the sprue rod is made of a substantially rigid material having a sufficient mechanical strength and withstanding to retain its integrity during the dewaxing step, and has a contour of generally tubular shape with the wall provided with a number of pores and covered with a wax covering layer. The rigidity of the tubular member ensures easy handling of the tree without the fear of damage during the handling operations. By the provision of hollow core portion internally of the tubular member having a wall provided with a number of pores, the risk of cracking of the ceramic shell mold applied on the wax master tree at the dewaxing step caused by the adverse affect of thermal expansion of the wax can be avoided.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1985Date of Patent: March 24, 1987Assignee: M.C.L.
