  • Patent number: 11006245
Abstract: In a general aspect, a method is presented for detecting a location of motion using wireless signals and topologies of wireless connectivity. The method includes obtaining motion-sensing data from access point (AP) nodes of a wireless mesh network. The motion-sensing data is based on wireless signals transmitted between respective pairs of the AP nodes. The method additionally includes identifying a motion-sensing topology of the wireless mesh network. The motion-sensing topology is based on tags assigned to respective AP nodes, each tag indicating a connected state of a respective AP node. The method further includes generating a probability vector based on the motion-sensing data and the motion-sensing topology. The probability vector includes values that represent probabilities of motion of an object at respective AP nodes. A location of the motion of the object is determined based on the probability vector.

  • Patent number: 10959066
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided in accordance with example embodiments in order to provide methods, apparatuses, and/or systems that reduce and/or eliminate network inefficiencies caused by the traffic profile associated with narrow band Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) devices and similar devices, by applying and optimizing protocols governing the allocation of network resources to such devices. In some example implementations, a serving gateway (SGW) and/or a packet data network gateway (PGW) is locally configured with a threshold set that includes limits on the permissible traffic associated with a NB-IoT device and/or a similar device over a given unit of time. To the extent that the traffic remains within such limits, generation of charging data records (CDRs) and signaling to an online charging server may be reduced or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 10959222
Abstract: A matchmaking service can match a satellite owner/operator with antennas that are available and capable of servicing a communication request from the satellite owner/operator (e.g., to exchange data with the satellite owner/operator's satellite). The communication request may be received at a ground station service, and information included therein may be compared to capabilities of antennas registered with the ground station service to determine antennas that are compatible with the request. The ground station service may reserve a time slot for a selected compatible antenna to service the request and control the selected compatible antenna (e.g., to track and communicate with the satellite) during the time slot. In some embodiments, the matchmaking of satellite owners/operators to antennas uses models to determine communication parameters for a communication request and to determine capabilities of antennas registered with the ground station.

  • Patent number: 10939328
Abstract: Handover bursts are identified for source and target cell pairs along a given public transport line, and each of the handover bursts are tagged with anonymized identifiers of participating users. By searching for handover bursts with a significant share of common user identifiers, it is possible to recursively connect bursts corresponding to a particular public transport vehicle trip. Further, by projecting the estimated location of all connected handover bursts to the path of the given public transport line, it is possible to interpolate stop times and locations for the given vehicle along the entire trip.

  • Patent number: 10939310
Abstract: Methods and apparatus in a wireless network that allow devices, such as client devices and access points (APs), having software defined radios (SDRs) to change operating behavior depending on network RF environment conditions are disclosed. The devices may be instructed to operate according to differently defined behavior profiles that may be chosen based on RF environment conditions. The profiles may be stored in a database. A particular profile may be obtained from the database for one or more devices based on an interference level within an RF environment of the devices. The profiles may be implemented to change device operating behavior so that interference is reduced or minimized in higher levels of interference. The profiles may also be implemented to change device behavior so that interference is reduced in lower levels of interference while also freeing up resources for more efficient use in the network during lower levels of interference.

  • Patent number: 10924947
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for intelligent node type selection in a telecommunications network. In one implementation, a customer set is obtained for a communications node in the telecommunications network. The customer set includes an existing customer set and a new customer set. A set of customer events is generated for a node type of the communications node using a simulator. The set of customer events is generated by simulating the customer set over time through a discrete event simulation. An impact of the customer events is modeled for the node type of the communications node. The node type is identified from a plurality of node types for a telecommunications build based on the impact of the customer events for the node type.
