  • Patent number: 10880679
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to receive vehicle speed and heading. The processor is also configured to determine a local data set having coordinates reachable by a vehicle traveling at a projected speed based on the received speed and heading within a predetermined amount of time. The processor is further configured to define a geo-fence at a distance from a local data set perimeter such that a vehicle reaching the geo-fence at the received speed will have time to download new local data before reaching the local data set perimeter and send the geo-fence definition and coordinate data within the local data set to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10863474
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A network server may configure a base station for beamforming communications based on a service type of data used by a user equipment (UE). The network server may determine the service type of the data based on position data of the UE, along with other statistical information related to data usage. The position information may include global position system (GPS) information, gyroscope information, accelerometer information, or information related to the UE's subarray geometry. The base station may receive the position information from the UE and convey it to the network server. The network server may use the position information to generate a network map and to identify the service type of communication.

  • Patent number: 10849099
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and a device in a User Equipment (UE) and a base station for wireless communication. The UE first receives first information, the first information indicating a first list and a second list, and then the UE monitors paging information in at least one of a first serving cell and a second serving cell; an area identifier corresponding to the first serving cell belongs to the first list, and an area identifier corresponding to the second serving cell belongs to the second list; and the first list and the second list can be updated separately. Through the designs of the first list and the second list and updating the first list and the second list separately, the disclosure improves the efficiency of mobility management at network side and the maintenance of tracking areas and reduces the complexity of paging design, and thus improves the overall performance.

  • Patent number: 10841779
Abstract: During normal operation, a switching module receives, from one or more media encoders, channel content associated with one or more media channels and transmits that channel content to a transmitter. The switching module, while transmitting the channel content, logs in a notification system in response to a login request received from the notification system. Once logged in, the notification system transmits content associated with the one or more media channels to the switching module. The switching module transmits the notification content to the transmitter in place of the channel content received from the media encoders. While transmitting the notification content, the switching module determines that the notification system has been logged out, and resumes transmission of the channel content to the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 10841776
Abstract: Techniques for updating data operations in a perception system are discussed herein. A vehicle may use a perception system to capture data about an environment proximate to the vehicle. The perception system may receive image data, lidar data, and/or radar data to determine information about an object in the environment. As different sensors may be associated with different time periods for capturing and/or processing operations, the techniques include updating object data with data from sensors associated with a shorter time period to generate intermediate object data. Such intermediate object data may reduce a delay in updating a position of an object in an environment, which may improve reaction time(s) and/or safety outcomes in systems implementing such perception systems, such as an autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10827329
Abstract: Peripheral devices such as wearables can link to mobile devices to access network elements. These peripheral devices can comprise a communication part and a processing part. Each of these parts, specially the processing part of the next item in a communication chain, can be multiple times larger and stronger than the previous linked item. For instance, the peripheral device can be connected to the mobile device which can be in line connected to an NodeB device. Because the processing power of mobile device can be several times stronger than the peripheral, a mobile edge computing platform and a multi-access application function facilitate sharing of processing power capabilities between the peripheral devices, mobile devices, and/or the NodeB devices.

  • Patent number: 10819842
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for providing on-demand access to a restricted resource of a user device. An example method can include generating a profile that specifies a restricted resource and one or more conditions for that resource to be de-restricted. The profile can be sent to, and utilized by, an agent application executing on the user device. The agent application can determine that a user is requesting de-restriction of a resource and determine whether all applicable conditions are met. If the conditions are met, the agent application can de-restrict the resource. After the resource is used, the agent application can report details of the use to an administrator or management server.

  • Patent number: 10791507
Abstract: A broker network may be configured to serve as an intermediary between one or more radio providers and one or more mobile service providers for reservation of remote radio units (RRUs) for use in a virtualized radio access network (vRAN) environment. The broker network may receive, from a mobile network, a message indicating a request for identification of RRUs of at least one radio provider. The broker network may send, to the mobile network, one or more messages including a plurality of identifiers which identify a plurality of RRUs, and a geographic location and capabilities associated with each RRU. After receiving a selection of an RRU, the broker network may send to the RRU a message which triggers communication with a virtualized Distributed Unit (vDU) for a remote configuration of parameters in the selected RRU, so that it may be used to facilitate communication with UEs in the mobile network.

  • Patent number: 10791535
Abstract: A mobility management entity (MME) controls an enterprise fabric. The MME receives from a mobile device via a cellular network a request to initiate an attach procedure. In response, the MME acquires from the mobile device a unique equipment identifier of the mobile device. The MME generates an enterprise identity for the mobile device based on the unique equipment identifier, and registers the enterprise identity in the enterprise fabric. The MME signals to a user plane function of the cellular network that the mobile device has been registered, to trigger the user plane function to acquire an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the mobile device based on the enterprise identity. The MME receives from the user plane function the acquired IP address. The MME sends to the mobile device, through the cellular network, an attach accept message that includes the acquired IP address for use by the mobile device.
