Abstract: A cover for an umbrella table assembly receives an umbrella pole therethrough. A portion of the cover associated with the pole is releasably secured to the pole and maintained in elevated position by the pole to provide a tent-like structure which includes an annular peripheral skirt which depends below the table top. Releasable fasteners which secure a cover to an article are attached to the cover after the cover has been positioned on the article.

Abstract: A retraction-assisting device for a drawer, comprises two guide housings, fixed to respective ones of corpus rails and each of which and comprises laterally spaced apart first and second longitudinally extending guide flanges, connecting member extends between the guide flanges and has comprises on one side a an indentation adapted to receive a coupling element on the drawer. The connecting member assumes a drawer-coupling first angular position, in which it is movable toward a forward end of the housing to stress the spring and a drawer-releasing second angular position, in which the coupling element is disengageable from to release the drawer and is also adapted to re-engage the indentation to return to the first angular position so that said drawer is then coupled to the connecting member, whereafter the stressed spring urges the connecting member toward the rear end of the guide housing.

Abstract: A variable-length table has a tabletop assembly which includes two leg mounting boards, two guide beams that interconnect the leg mounting boards, two connecting beam sets, two fixed tabletop units and a removable tabletop unit. Each connecting beam set includes two connecting beams disposed respectively on two sides of a corresponding one of the guide beams and mounted slidably thereto. Each fixed tabletop unit is mounted on a respective one of the connecting beams of each of the connecting beam sets. The removable tabletop unit includes a board member that is to be disposed removably between the fixed tabletop units when the fixed tabletop units are pulled apart so as to obtain a longer table length, and an opposite pair of flanges that are mounted foldably on the board member thereof and that cooperate with flanges of the fixed tabletop units so as to conceal the guide beams and the connecting beam sets when the longer table length is obtained.

Abstract: A desk comprises a desk top, four aprons and four legs. The aprons and the legs are fastened with the underside of the desk top. Two adjoining aprons of the desk are fastened by a fastening member having one end that is made integrally with one of the two adjoining aprons. Another one of the two adjoining aprons is provided with a locating portion for locating a free end of the fastening member. Each of four legs is fastened at the top thereof with two adjoining aprons and the fastening member.

Abstract: There is provided a viewing and storage system for a television (TV) set or the like including a cabinet having a pair of adjacent compartments. One said compartment is sized to receive the TV set and has a frontal door opening therein. This one compartment also has a fixed horizontal lower shelf therein and a rotating horizontal support shelf rotatable about a vertical axis. The rotatable shelf is located at a level above said lower shelf and in close juxtaposition thereto. The rotatable shelf is shaped such that when (A) rotated to a first extended position, a substantial portion thereof extends outwardly of said one compartment via said door opening for support of the TV set thereon with the remaining portion of the rotatable shelf overlying said lower shelf. Means are provided for counteracting vertical loadings applied to the outwardly extending portion of said rotatable shelf.

Abstract: An anti-theft apparatus for use in a vehicle-mounted electronic component includes a removable control panel. Protrusions on a first side of the control panel engage holes in a first side of an equipment body of the electronic component and function as hinges as the control panel is rotated to a mounted position. A first electrical connector on the equipment body engages a second electrical connector on a rear surface of the control panel and a biasing member exerts a force against the rear surface of the control panel. The control panel includes a recess in a second side into which a locking protrusion of a locking mechanism in the equipment body extends. A button actuates the locking mechanism retracting the locking protrusion and allowing the biasing member to eject the control panel from the equipment body. The locking protrusion is retracted by a sliding cam or directly by depression of the button.

Abstract: When a door of a refrigerator door is closed, there is provided a passage which remains open to communicate the interior of the refrigerator with air outside of the refrigerator for a predetermined time period in order to enable pressures inside and outside of the refrigerator to be equalized. Thus, the door can be subsequently opened more easily. Energy for closing the passage after the predetermined time period is stored by an energy storing member in response to either a door-opening movement or a door-closing movement.

Abstract: This invention relates to a shelf mounting between a shower door and a bar mounted across the door. The shelf is a molded, thin wall, integral body and comprises a compartment atop left and right, trapezoidal shaped, hollow legs respectively contiguous with the compartment. The compartment has (a) a tray with an upper surface unobstructed between left and right edges thereof, (b) a front extending above the tray along its front edge and (c) left and right sides, the left and right sides respectively being integral with left and right ends of the front and spaced from the left and right edges of the tray. The left and right, trapezoidal shaped, hollow legs respectively have (a) left and right trapezoidal shaped inner legs.

Abstract: The high stiffness of the legs of a twin-sheet thermoformed pallet are effectively made to contribute to the overall stiffness of the pallet deck by utilizing vertical webs which tie into the legs through a plurality of special purpose depressions or knee joints and which work with narrow channels in the bottom deck which extend parallel to the predominate lines of stress expected to be experienced by the pallet.

Abstract: The combination system for holding compact disk boxes includes combination plates (1) which can be joined together by linear and angled connecting strips (3,3') fastened on their rear sides to form flat and cuboid combinations for holding and displaying CD boxes. On a front side, a combination plate (1) has a rectangular mounting area (1b) used to hold a CD box (2) which is secured in place by means of an angled projection (1d) and a snap-catch (1e) so that a compact disk (5) can be removed without displacing the CD box (2). Magazines (30) can be inserted for additional storage of CD boxes (2).

Abstract: An encapsulated shelf assembly has a shelf support supporting a panel. The panel has an edge and a one piece member encapsulates the panel edge and a substantial majority of the shelf support. The encapsulated shelf assembly may be formed in a mold apparatus which defines a mold cavity and uses a spacing plug to position the shelf support in a mold cavity of the mold apparatus in a location spaced from the sides of the mold cavity.

Abstract: A transportable pallet runner for moving and storing light to moderate loads comprising a plurality of spaced runners of bonded corrugated cardboard having flutes parallel to the force of the load and a spacer panel affixed to the runners to secure their spacing and orientation. Some runners have angles at their ends to facilitate conveyor movement and orientation.

Abstract: A table that is useful alone and in combination with a tray and/or other inserts supported atop the table. The table is of a unitary molded plastic construction and is configured for nested stacking with like tables for convenient and compact storage and handling. The table has a top surface of regular polygonal shape with four truncated corners, and a plurality of legs depending from the table top at respective ones of the truncated corners. The legs, going from top to bottom, diverge outwardly with each being in the form of a channel that opens inwardly for nested receipt of a corresponding leg of a subjacent table of like construction. The table top has an upstanding marginal rim extending along the peripheral edge of the top surface thereof, and the marginal rim functions to prevent objects from rolling or sliding off the top surface and/or as containment structure for an insert such as a decorative panel and/or a removable tray that may have a design printed thereon.

Abstract: An adjustable shelf for a paint colorant dispensing station comprises at least two platforms rotatably mounted on a pair of brackets. A pair of stops restrain the rotation of the shelf between two positions. One of the platforms is substantially horizontal and disposed beneath a dispensing head in one of the positions. The other platform is substantially horizontal and disposed beneath the dispensing head in the other of the positions. Each platform is adapted to hold a paint can. Each stop is adjustable by rotating the stop relative to the shelf. The rotation causes a threaded rod to extend from or retract to the element that supports the stop. A locking mechanism is provided to selectively restrain the shelf against rotation when the shelf is in one of the two positions.

Abstract: A portable nursing center has a plurality of selectively locked patient drawers carried in a housing. Each of said drawers are movable between a given open position and a closed position each drawer sized and configured for holding pharmaceutical items which have been prescribed for a specific patient. A nurse enters a predetermined access data and other data, using a keyboard or bar code reader which may be removable from the nursing center. Entry of correct data causes the unit to selectively unlock the appropriate patient drawer or on demand drawer while maintaining other drawers in a locked condition. Whenever the patient is given medicine or otherwise treated the nurse enters or receives information pertinent to that treatment. The unit has a transmitter/receiver to transmit and receive such patient information.

Abstract: A bracket for securing a computer drive within a housing. The housing has a housing base, and two housing walls each disposed perpendicularly to the housing base and to each other. The bracket comprises a base for supporting the computer drive. The base has a first base aperture for slidably securing the bracket within the housing and for preventing movement of the bracket in a first degree of freedom. The bracket also comprises a first support means, which is perpendicularly coupled to the base, for engaging the first housing wall and for preventing movement of the bracket in a second degree of freedom. Perpendicularly coupled to the base is a first means for engaging the second housing wall and for preventing movement of the bracket in a third degree of freedom. The bracket further comprises a second support means which is perpendicularly coupled to said base. The second support means has an interior surface facing an interior surface of the first support means.

Abstract: An improved adjustable height workstand having a base with a front face, a pair of upstanding support columns adjacent that front face, and an adjustable platform having a front end and a relatively planar tread surface which can be adjustably fixed at a plurality of predetermined vertical heights. The support columns include a plurality of vertically spaced and rearwardly extending adjustment slots, and the adjustable platform includes a pair of oppositely disposed adjustment members located adjacent the front end of the platform. The adjustment members each include an outwardly extending locking pin and a second locking member. The pin is selectively received in a corresponding adjustment slot and also enables rotation of the adjustable platform relative to the support columns. When the platform is in substantially horizontal, or use, position, the second locking member contacts a rearward facing portion of the support column to rigidly hold the tread surface against further rotation.

Abstract: A venting device for use in venting a hollow structure such as a refrigerator door to be filled with an expanding foamed-in-place insulation material has tapered apertures to allow gas to escape while retaining the insulation material. The venting device can include a chamber for receiving a hinge pin or a shelf end.

Abstract: A bridge interconnects two table tops and is supported solely by the table tops themselves, employing connector bars which normally serve to gang tables together. Alignment pins on the bottom surface of the bridge engage openings in the connector bars. A separate slidable locking bar on the bridge engages each pair of connector bars to attach the bridge to the two table tops.

Abstract: The invention relates to a storage receptacle with a rear wall and a front wall as well as two lateral walls, in which guide rails are provided at equal heights for receiving and moving of further receptacles fitted in the storage receptacle, wherein at least one of the walls is embodied to be displaceable or pivotable and contains guide rails which, after displacement or pivoting of the wall, alignedly engage the guide rails of the respectively adjoining walls. The storage receptacle can also be arranged in the form of a longitudinal drawer in a piece of furniture and contains transverse drawers which can be pulled out of the storage receptacle crosswise to the pull-out direction.
