  • Patent number: 11769283
Abstract: Systems, methods and non-transitory computer readable media for generating looped video clips are provided. A still image may be received. The still image may be analyzed to generate a series of images. The series of images may include at least first, middle and last images. The first image may be substantially visually similar to the last image, and the middle image may be visually different from the first and last images. The series of images may be provided. Playing the series of images in a video clip that starts with the first image and finishes with the last image, and repeating the video clip from the first image immediately after completing the playing of the video clip with the last image may create visually smooth transaction in which the transition from the last image to the first image is visually indistinguishable from the transactions between frames within the video clip.

  • Patent number: 11770580
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically recording media assets not explicitly scheduled for recording by a user when the user leaves his or her home. For example, when the user leaves home, a media guidance application, being executed on a user equipment device (such as a set-top box), schedules to record media assets that the user has expressed interest in, but has not explicitly scheduled for recording. If the user returns home before a recording has begun, the media guidance application does not record the media assets the user has not explicitly scheduled for recording.

  • Patent number: 11763848
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to identify jump points indicative of potential time points from which to resume consumption of the media asset in response to receiving a request to skip a portion of a media asset being consumed. The jump points include a first jump point identified based on a content viewing profile and a second jump point identified based on a scene information associated with the media asset. A preview image is displayed at each of the identified jump points. Systems and methods are also described to pause the skipping operation at the identified jump points and provide a preview at the respective jump points. Systems and method are further described to identify jump points based on analysis of the portion of the media asset being skipped.

  • Patent number: 11736673
Abstract: An unobstructed image portion of a captured image from a first camera of a camera pair, e.g., a stereoscopic camera pair including fisheye lenses, is combined with a scaled extracted image portion generated from a captured image from a second camera in the camera pair. An unobstructed image portion of a captured image from the second camera of the camera pair is combined with a scaled extracted image portion generated from a captured image from the first camera in the camera pair. As part of the combining obstructed image portions which were obstructed by part of the adjacent camera are replaced in some embodiments. In some embodiments, the obstructions are due to adjacent fisheye lens. In various embodiments fish eye lenses which have been cut to be flat on one side are used for the left and right cameras with the spacing between the optical axis approximating the spacing between the optical axis of a human person's eyes.

  • Patent number: 11711489
Abstract: In some aspects, control circuitry receives and stores a user-specified time duration to associate with a skip-forward command. When the user later issues a skip-forward command to advance playback of a media asset to a desired location, the control circuitry retrieves the stored time duration, and determines an expected overshoot value associated with the skip-forward command. The control circuitry then compensates for the expected overshoot by calculating a new location in the media asset based on both the retrieved time duration and expected overshoot value. Upon advancing to the new location, the media asset is played back in a fast-forward mode, e.g., at a speed higher than normal speed.
