  • Patent number: 11542882
Abstract: A method and system is provided for correcting fueling commands. For example, the method and system may calibrate an engine operating in a steady-state mode by determining a plurality of accuracy errors associated with a fueling rate based on a plurality of sensor measurements. The method and system may determine fueling rate correction data during on-line operation of the engine based on the plurality of accuracy errors. The on-line operation of the engine may comprise operating the engine in a transient mode at a first period of time and a steady-state mode at a second period of time. The method and system may control at least one fueling valve during operation of the engine using a corrected fueling command. The corrected fueling command is based on the fueling rate correction data.

  • Patent number: 11536211
Abstract: A powertrain system includes a port injection internal combustion engine. A first start process is a process in which fuel is enclosed in a compression stroke cylinder when the engine is stopped, and based on a stored crank stop position, ignition is performed in a first cycle of the compression stroke cylinder upon engine start. A second start process is a process in which, based on the stored crank stop position, fuel injection is performed for an intake stroke cylinder while the engine is stopped, and based on the stored crank stop position, ignition is performed in the first cycle of the intake stroke cylinder upon engine start. When a catalyst temperature at the time engine start is requested is equal to or higher than a first threshold, a control device starts the internal combustion engine by at least one of the first start process and the second start process.

  • Patent number: 11518249
Abstract: A vehicle running control device that is provided with an accelerating-decelerating operation element with an operation range inclusive of a driving range and a braking range includes the following. An input-output section that receives various information including information on a direction in which the vehicle is currently running, a determining section that determines whether the vehicle is in a switch-back state, and an acceleration-deceleration control section that controls the vehicle running. When a braking-driving request value for an operation of the accelerating-decelerating operation element is in the braking range and the determining section determines that the vehicle is in the switch-back state, the acceleration-deceleration control section keeps the braking-driving force at a braking-driving force that is applied to the vehicle when a shift range switch request is accepted.

  • Patent number: 11519324
Abstract: Engine includes a cylinder having a peripheral wall defining a combustion chamber, a crankshaft, and a piston movable in the cylinder. Intake and exhaust valves regulate flow of an air into or combustion products out of the combustion chamber, respectively. An exhaust outlet port has an opening in the peripheral wall at a location between lowermost and uppermost piston positions, and an outlet port valve is associated with the exhaust outlet port. The exhaust stroke has a first exhaust stage in which combustion products exhaust through the exhaust outlet port when an upper surface of the piston is below the opening, and the outlet port valve opens. In a second, subsequent exhaust stage, during continued movement of the piston past the opening in the peripheral wall, the outlet port valve closes and remaining combustion products in the combustion chamber exhaust around the exhaust valve.
