  • Patent number: 11627016
Abstract: In one embodiment, a segment routing and tunnel exchange provides packet forwarding efficiencies in a network, including providing an exchange between a segment routing domain and a packet tunnel domain. One application includes the segment routing and tunnel exchange interfacing segment routing packet forwarding (e.g., in a Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and/or 5-G user plane) and packet tunnel forwarding in access networks (e.g., replacing a portion of a tunnel between an access node and a user plane function for accessing a corresponding data network). In one embodiment, a network provides mobility services using a segment routing data plane that spans segment routing and tunnel exchange(s) and segment routing-enabled user plane functions. One embodiment uses the segment routing data plane without any modification to a (radio) access network (R)AN (e.g., Evolved NodeB, Next Generation NodeB) nor to user equipment (e.g., any end user device).

  • Patent number: 11621762
Abstract: A wireless device may detect beam failure of a number of cells. In response to the number of the cells being greater than a maximum number that a beam failure recovery medium-access control control element (BFR MAC CE) accommodates, the wireless device may select one or more cells of the cells based on an ascending order of cell indexes of the cells. The wireless device may transmit the BFR MAC CE comprising a candidate reference signal index or a reserved bit for each of the one or more cells.

  • Patent number: 11611906
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems, methods and software for determining an optimal burst transmission time through a modem, such as a cable modem, a wireless access point, a node in a cable network, or a satellite communication link. Particularly, the present disclosure makes it possible for a burst of queued data, defined as data above a certain percentile of a monitored traffic rate, to be transmitted by the modem at a time that provides the best chance of avoiding a collision with a co-occurring burst of data from another user connected to the same modem. In an embodiment, the systems, methods and software disclosed herein use the optimal transmission time to replace a contention window transmission time, at least for bursty data, or they completely eliminate the need for contention windows, at least for bursty data.

  • Patent number: 11601315
Abstract: Systems, methods, and circuitries are disclosed for determining Precoding Resource Block Groups (PRGs). In one example, a processor of a base station (BS) is configured to determine a plurality of PRGs that includes a number N consecutive Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) over which a same precoder assignment is used, starting from a reference PRB. The plurality PRGs include a first boundary PRG, a second boundary PRG, and one or more other PRGs. The first boundary PRG is located at an upper boundary of a bandwidth part. The first boundary PRG comprises fewer than N PRBs when the upper boundary of the bandwidth part is not aligned with a PRG boundary. The second boundary PRG comprises fewer than N PRBs when a lower boundary of the bandwidth part is not aligned with a PRG boundary. A downlink data channel is transmitted to a UE in accordance with the precoder assignments.

  • Patent number: 11602000
Abstract: When a first access node is considering setup of dual-connectivity service for a UE, the first access node could take into consideration the MU-MIMO grouping efficiency respectively of each of one or more candidate second access nodes, in order to decide whether to set up the dual-connectivity service for the UE and/or to decide which of the multiple second access nodes to use for the UE's dual-connectivity service. MU-MIMO grouping efficiency of a given access node could be a representative count of UEs that the access node has provided with MU-MIMO service per unit time. Thus, for instance, the first access node may decide to use a given candidate second access node for the dual-connectivity service of the UE, with the decision being based on the given candidate second access node having a higher MU-MIMO grouping efficiency than one or more other candidate second access nodes.
