Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for constructing a whitlockite coating on a surface of a calcium phosphate-based bioceramic substrate and a resulting coating, wherein the preparation method includes the following steps of: preparing pure calcium phosphate-based bioceramic powder firstly, then pre-firing, shaping and calcining the pure calcium phosphate-based bioceramic powder to obtain a calcium phosphate-based bioceramic substrate, placing the substrate in a solution containing Mg2+, then transferring the substrate to a high-temperature high-pressure reaction kettle for a hydrothermal reaction, and then cleaning and drying the sample to obtain a whitlockite coating.
Abstract: The present invention relates to plasma-based films and in particular to flexible plasma-based films. The invention further relates to and to methods of making and using the flexible plasma-based films. Embodiments of the invention have been particularly developed for making flexible plasma-based films useful as a hemostat in the treatment and/or prevention of mild to severe as well as arterial bleedings, as an anti-adhesive sheet to reduce or prevent development of surgery-induced adhesions, as a wound healing patch, as a wound dressing, or as a film useful in hernia repair. Embodiments of the invention will be described hereinafter with reference to these applications. However, it will be appreciated that the invention is not limited to this particular field of use.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to suppress agglutination of ultrafine cellulose fibers, while using the ultrafine cellulose fibers as a thickener in a cosmetic product formulation, so as to provide a uniform cosmetic. The present invention provides a cosmetic comprising the following components (A) and (B): (A) ultrafine cellulose fibers having a fiber width of 1000 nm or less; and (B) a water-soluble polymer.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an antibacterial co-polymer comprising a water soluble backbone polymer having in at least one end a dendritic or hyperbranched polymer of generation 1 to 6 wherein at least one functional group comprising a carboxylic amine has been covalently attached to the periphery of the dendritic or hyperbranched polymer. The present invention also relates to said anti-bacterial co-polymer when said co-polymer has been cross-linked with a cross-linking agent and to uses of the cross-linked co-polymer in a hydrogel for the treatment or prevention of bacterial infections, particularly in surgical site infections (SSIs).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fibrous nerve conduit for promoting nerve regeneration, comprising a channel, the channel having diameter controllable ends, the channel is adjustable to suturing to a proximal and distal end of a severed nerve, the conduit further comprises a PCL (MW:70KDa) with concentration of 10-15% and PLGA (MW:50KDa,50:50) with concentration of 10-18%.
Abstract: A preparation method and an application of a composite scaffold for directionally guiding regeneration of optic nerve axons. A major component of the composite scaffold is prepared from one or more degradable biomedical materials combined according to different ratios by a gradient freezing method. To increase a mechanical property of the scaffold or prolong in-vivo degradation time, the scaffold may be cross-linked by a biological cross-linker. After a gelatin is added, the prepared composite scaffold exhibits excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility. A problem of solubility differences of the gelatin A produced during gradient freezing can be regulated by sodium alginate, thereby facilitating regular directional pipeline morphology of the scaffold.
