  • Patent number: 7889969
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and apparatus for audio content playback during fast forward playback video trick modes. A storage medium reader is provided for reading coded digital data from a storage medium such as a DVD. The coded digital data comprises a video programming and a corresponding audio programming. A decoder decodes from a portion of the digital data comprising the audio programming a plurality of digital audio samples corresponding to a selected portion of the video programming. Subsequently, an audio processor key shifts a playback audio pitch associated with the audio samples to compensate for the higher pitched audio associated with the fast forward video playback mode.

  • Patent number: 7876359
Abstract: A method and system for stabilizing images being taken by a video camera using electromechanical stabilization. The stabilization system performs inter-frame stabilization based on the velocity of a vehicle on which the video camera is mounted and the pan rate of a line-of-sight controller of the video camera. The inter-frame stabilization is performed by a software component by moving a display area (or viewport) within a larger image area. The stabilization system converts an inter-frame stabilization adjustment into a pan rate adjustment so that the line-of-sight controller will keep the desired object within the image area of the camera.

  • Patent number: 7860366
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus and method, recording medium, and program capable of generating a priority table in a straightforward manner. JPEG 2000 data 151 inputted to a table generation section 114 is held by a JPEG 2000 data reading section 161, and is provided to a JP2 packet information extraction section 162 at a prescribed timing. After the necessary JP2 packet information has been extracted in packet form, this is provided to a priority table editing section 164. Then, at the priority table editing section 164, a priority table with priority values set for all of the JP2 packets is made based on setting information 152 designating priority values for some of the JP2 packets corresponding to the JPEG 2000 data 151 provided by the setting information reading section 163 and is outputted by the priority table output section 165. The present invention can be applied to personal computers.

  • Patent number: 7809246
Abstract: A formatter is provided and, when a code sequence which matches a part (‘00’) of the head of a predetermined code sequence detected by a start code prefix detection unit, is detected, the start code prefix detection unit detects the residual part (‘00’, ‘00’, ‘01’, ‘E0’) of the detected predetermined code sequence to detect a pattern of (‘00’, ‘00’, ‘00’), and the formatter outputs one (‘00’). After the boundary of packets is defined, amongst data which are not transferred to a decoding buffer, data corresponding to code sequences other than the code sequence (‘00’, ‘00’, ‘01’, ‘E0’) indicating that the packet boundary are output to the decoding buffer. Therefore, when separating a coded and multiplexed signal, control of an input buffer reading control circuit is simplified, and thereby the hardware scale is reduced, resulting in an inexpensive apparatus for reproducing a digital code sequence.

  • Patent number: 7809241
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and apparatus for audio track playback during fast forward playback video trick modes. A storage medium reader is provided for reading digital data from a storage medium such as a DVD. The digital data represents a video presentation and a corresponding audio programming. A decoder decodes from a portion of the digital data comprising the audio programming a plurality of digital audio samples corresponding to a selected portion of the video presentation. Subsequently, a digital signal processor can convert the audio samples to their corresponding frequency domain equivalents and scale the frequency and amplitude of a playback audio frequency associated with the audio samples in accordance with trick mode video playback.

  • Patent number: 7756401
Abstract: A digital audio-video information reproducing apparatus and a reproducing method thereof are provided, in which a predetermined time point or a keyword from users is used as a basic for controlling the reproduction of a file-based AV file. If the subtitle is in a bitmap format, the bitmap subtitle is transformed to text contents. If the subtitle is in a text format, the subtitle is directly interpreted. Then, the interpreted/transformed text content is compared with the keyword, so as to interpret a matched time point corresponding to the subtitle, and the matched time point is set as a start or end point for reproducing the AV file. Alternatively, the comparison result may be applied in analyzing a correlation between the AV file and the keyword.

  • Patent number: 7747135
Abstract: There is provided an image display system that can display images recorded by a plurality of image recording apparatuses in such a manner that the images are associated with each other. The image display system is comprised of a TV apparatus that captures and reproduces images recorded by the plurality of image recording apparatuses and additional information added thereto and then displays each of the reproduced images. The TV apparatus detects the presence or absence of relevancy between the images recorded by the plurality of image recording apparatuses based on the additional information captured and reproduced from the plurality of image recording apparatuses, and then displays, on a display, a related image display screen that allows a viewer to recognize the detected related images.

  • Patent number: 7693390
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling inclined angle of an AV front panel for automobile is disclosed. Rotating force from a motor is transmitted to a rack attached to a slide plate through a power transmission system, and the slide plate is thus extended outward. The outer end of the slide plate pushes a lower part of the front panel, and the upper part of the front panel is lowered along a trajectory guide. Thereafter, rotating force from a second motor is transmitted to a sector gear through a second power transmission system. The rotation of the sector gear causes an end of an arm link to be lowered, thereby allowing the upper part to exit from an opening of the trajectory guide. As the upper part of the front panel is lowered, the front panel is laid down to be accessed therein.

  • Patent number: 7684672
Abstract: A broadcast storage system is disclosed which is easily controllable by the user for setting programs for timer recording and playing back recorded programs. The broadcast storage system has one or more slave apparatus and a master apparatus. The master apparatus grasps programs set for timer recording by each of the slave apparatus. When a program to be recorded is determined by the user or an automatic timer recording process, the master apparatus selects an apparatus to record the program such that a plurality of timer recording settings are not made at one time in one apparatus, and instructs the selected apparatus to set the program for timer recording. When instructed to set the program for timer recording, a slave apparatus sets the program for timer recording, and records the program at the time when the program is broadcast.

  • Patent number: 7672571
Abstract: In a reproduction apparatus (100A), an information signal generation unit (Pa) generates a first information signal (Sav) from a recording medium (11). An information signal input unit (1, 8a) inputs a second information signal (Stv) which is provided from an external information source via a requested channel. When switching between the information signals, a control unit (8a) stores the current state of reproduction, so that reproduction will be restarted from the stored state when switching back to the original information signal.
