Abstract: An information processing unit determines, when receiving information through a reading process from a recording medium, whether a user identified by the information has transition authority for a transition from an energy saving mode to a normal mode of carrying out information processing; sends a transition request for carrying out a transition from the energy saving mode to the normal mode to a power supply control part when determining that the user has the transition authority; and carries out the transition to the normal mode in response to the transition request and, when authentication of the user is successful, displays on a user interface part a display screen page for receiving an operation concerning the information processing.
Abstract: A simulation apparatus includes a status-transition-frequency input, a job status unit, a job-status simulating unit, an error-occurrence-rate input unit, and a device alert unit. The status-transition-frequency input unit receives an input of a status transition frequency of a job executable by a device. The job status unit simulates a status transition of the job based on the status transition frequency. The job-status simulating unit makes a transition of a status of the job based on the status transition by the job status unit as a simulation. The error-occurrence-rate input unit receives an input of an error occurrence rate of the job. The device alert unit makes a transition of a status of the device based on the error occurrence rate as a simulation.
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a display unit configured to provide a preview display of image data stored in a memory, and an execution unit configured to execute a print job transmitted from an external apparatus. If the print job is transmitted from the external apparatus during the preview display, the display unit displays a screen for changing the preview display to a list display of the image data.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward printing of digital images with increased efficiency and ease. In particular, one or more embodiments provide an image printing system that allows a user to print images from a mobile or other device without having to upload a high-resolution version of the digital images to a print vendor. More specifically, one or more embodiments of the image printing system allow users to store images on a remote server or in a cloud storage space. When the users desire to print physical copies of the digital images, the image printing system can provide the digital images to a print vendor without requiring the users to upload the images to the print vendor from the users' own device.

Abstract: An image forming device capable of acquiring to-be-printed data from any of external image forming devices, without making inquiries about the presence or absence of the to-be-printed data to all the external image forming devices. An image forming apparatus receives, from another image forming apparatus that has received print data, bibliographic information containing identification information that identifies the another image forming apparatus, and registers the received bibliographic information. Abstract: Provided is an image capturing apparatus for capturing an image of a target object by optically scanning the target object by moving in a predetermined scanning direction. The apparatus includes a light-receiving device that is disposed on a light-receiving surface of the image capturing apparatus and accumulates an electric charge according to an amount of light received from a light detection window, a length of which in the scanning direction is shorter than a length in the scanning direction of an area defined as one pixel of the target object; and an output device that outputs the electric charge accumulated by the light-receiving device when the light-receiving device has completed the optical scanning of the area defined as one pixel.

Abstract: An image reading device includes: a reading unit in which light receiving elements are arranged in a line along a second direction; and a light source control section that controls emission of the light source members, the light source control section performing control such that light is emitted in a cycle order of the first, second, and third colors on the basis of a reference signal which is output at a preset time interval, and to make a time of emission of the light with the first color close to a time of start of emission of the light with the second color and to make a time of emission of the light with the third color close to a time of end of emission of the light with the second color.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus may include a web service provider and a web browser. The web service provider includes a control unit to cause a processing unit to perform image processing as a web service according to a request of a web service included in an HTTP response received by a web browser. The web browser includes a first reception unit, a display unit, a transmission unit, and a second reception unit. The first reception unit receives screen data for displaying an operation screen of the image processing apparatus from an external apparatus. The display unit displays the received screen data. In response to an operation from a user being received via the operation screen, the transmission unit transmits to the external apparatus an HTTP request according to the operation received. Further, the process amount specifying unit sets the black generation amount and the UCR amount on the basis of a smallest color component value of a pixel with the image property using a conversion characteristic that varies in accordance with a lightness value, a chroma saturation value and a hue value of the pixel with the image property.
Abstract: Systems and methods detect a power supply device of an apparatus being disconnected from an external AC power source and control a DC power storage element of the apparatus to supply power to a processor and directional force sensor of the apparatus. Such systems and methods record directional force measurements output by the directional force sensor and a measure of time output by a clock device of the apparatus while the processor detects that the power supply is disconnected from the external AC power source to store directions, magnitudes, and time durations of the directional force measurements in a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of the apparatus. These systems and methods calculate and output a path of movement of the apparatus that occurred while the apparatus was disconnected from the external AC power source based on the directions, magnitudes, and time durations of the directional force measurements using the processor.
Abstract: An approach is provided for managing locked printing requests in cloud printing environments. In a cloud printing environment, a cloud printing service provider provides a platform that enables client devices to send print requests for processing by any printing device that is configured to communicate with the cloud printing service provider over a network, such as the Internet. A printing device comprises a cloud print agent that is configured to manage locked printing requests received from client devices via a cloud printing platform. The cloud print agent may be further configured to notify a user when print job data for a print job submitted by the user is approaching expiration.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present disclosure includes an image output unit, a nonvolatile storage unit, an original-image generating device, and a log-image generating device. The image output unit outputs an image. The nonvolatile storage unit stores information even in the event of a power interruption. The original-image generating device generates an original image in the nonvolatile storage unit. The log-image generating device generates a log image based on the original image. Abstract: A communication system includes a plurality of devices, a plurality of communication relay apparatuses, and a management server. If the management server that has received from a cloud server a request to access a specific device has no communication session with a specific communication relay apparatus that has control over the specific device, the management server transmits a tunnel connection request to a substitute apparatus (another communication relay apparatus different from the specific communication relay apparatus) via a communication session between the substitute apparatus and the management server. The substitute apparatus transfers the tunnel connection request to the specific communication relay apparatus and causes the specific communication relay apparatus to return from a power saving mode.
