  • Patent number: 9176610
Abstract: Building on a set of captured audiovisual segments clipped to provide a palette of audio and synched video, techniques and implementations described herein facilitate a new and highly-personalized (and in some cases crowd-sourced or sourcable) genre of audiovisual sampling and musical performance. Using a palette of captured and/or imported audio and associated video, users can remix to create a coordinated audiovisual performance. Because the audiovisual sampling and musical performance capabilities can be hosted on ubiquitous handheld or other portable computing devices such as smartphones and/or pad-type computers, user/musicians can, in essence, creatively remix their life.

  • Patent number: 9142257
Abstract: A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.

  • Patent number: 9131227
Abstract: A computer-implemented video analyzing method includes dividing a video into a plurality of sections. The similarity value of the first frame and the last frame of each section is greater than zero. A representative frame is selected from each section, and the similarity value of each two representative frames is computed. Two sections the similarity of whose representative frames is the greatest are combined into one section. The recording time of the first frame and the recording time of the last frame of each section is determined if the similarity value of representative frames of each two adjacent sections is zero.

  • Patent number: 9111577
Abstract: A method, computer system, and/or computer program product enables a reuse of media storage space via partial file deletion. Multiple friends in a same social circle, which together have control of multiple media storage devices that are storing all segments of a media file, are identified. A last friend from the multiple friends, who has control of a last media storage device to have a last copy of a particular segment of the media file, is identified. The last media storage device is the only media storage device, from the multiple storage devices, to have a copy of the particular segment of the media file. The last media storage device is prevented from deleting the particular segment of the media file until another of the multiple storage devices stores a copy of the particular segment of the media file.

  • Patent number: 9094655
Abstract: An example of an information processing device obtains control data for a panoramic video. The control data includes a time condition and a direction condition. The information processing device displays, on a display device, an image of the panoramic video in a viewing range corresponding to a viewing direction determined based on an input on a predetermined input device. It is determined whether the time condition included in the control data is satisfied for a playback time point of the panoramic video being played on the display device. It is also determined whether the direction condition included in the control data is satisfied for the viewing direction determined based on an input. Based on a determination result for the time condition and the direction condition the information processing device performs a predetermined information process.

  • Patent number: 9077957
Abstract: A video reproducing apparatus that allows a user to visually identify a video component taken at a frame rate that is different from the normal frame rate on a time sequence bar. A reproduction unit reproduces a video image in which video components taken at different frame rates are mixed and to display the video image on a display unit. A display control unit displays a sequence bar on the display unit. The display control unit controls so that a ratio of the length of a section indicating a second video component to its taking time is larger than a ratio of the length of a section indicating a first video component to its taking time, when the video image includes the first and second video components taken at first and second (higher) frame rates, respectively, and when the sections are indicated on the sequence bar.

  • Patent number: 9058686
Abstract: The utility of a service using AR is improved. The information display apparatus which applies an information display according to augmented reality (AR) acquires a reference image for matching with a subject in a captured image and scale information which shows a scale of the subject in the reference image from an information provision apparatus. Then, an inputter-outputter of the information display apparatus displays the captured image as well as a distribution of the reference images by a scale of the subject. On this distribution display, a guide display according to the scale of the subject in the captured image is performed. This guide display moves on the distribution display corresponding to a change of an angle of view. Accordingly, it is easily set the angle of view by which the matching using the acquired reference image can be performed appropriately, and the convenience improves.
