  • Patent number: 9813663
Abstract: A receiver receives a request for content associated with a channel, determines that all channel selectors are in use, selects a set of options, and transmits the set to a presentation device. The receiver fulfills the request utilizing a selected option. All available channel selectors may be in use because they are tuned to frequency bands of a broadcast signal to record content and data associated the channel is included in a different frequency band.

  • Patent number: 9805567
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a video camera selectively streams to a remote server. Still images or short video events are intermittently transmitted when there is no significant motion detected. When significant motion is detected, video is streamed to the remote server. The images and video can be higher resolution than the bandwidth used, by locally buffering the images and video, and transmitting it at a lower frame rate that extends to when there is no live streaming. This provides a time-delayed stream, but with more resolution at lower bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9794615
Abstract: A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.

  • Patent number: 9794632
Abstract: Video clips may be automatically edited to be synchronized for accompaniment by audio tracks. A first version of a video clip may be made up from stored video content. The first version of the video clip may include one occurrences of video events. An audio track may include audio event markers. The first version of the video clip may be synchronized so that moments within the video clip corresponding to occurrences of video events are aligned with moments within the audio track corresponding to audio event markers. Changes to the audio track may be determined. A second version of the video clip may be synchronized so that moments within the video clip corresponding to occurrences of video events are aligned with moments within the changed audio track corresponding to audio event markers.

  • Patent number: 9734681
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a cloud-based video monitoring system comprising a camera and a network video recorder (NVR). During operation, the camera stores in a buffer last predetermined temporal segment of a video. The camera also stores a first video file in a local storage corresponding to an event detected by the camera. This first video file is non-overlapping with a second video file corresponding to the event and this second video file is stored in the NVR. The camera generates a third video file by pre-pending last predetermined temporal segment of a video prior to the event to the first video file and sends the third video file to the NVR.

  • Patent number: 9720511
Abstract: A hybrid system which detects and tracks objects in three-dimensional space using a light source disposed in spaced relation to a projection surface, defining a volume of space illuminated by said light source. A light sensor responsive to illumination falling on the projection surface measures illumination levels over a predefined image plane associated with the light sensor, producing a projected image signal. A structured light source projects a structured light within the volume of space and a structured light sensor records reflected structured light from objects occupying the volume of space producing a structured light signal. A correlation processor receptive of the projected image signal and said structured light signal and adapted to compute a hybrid signal indicative of the position of an object within said space and from which other information about the object may be extracted.

  • Patent number: 9716845
Abstract: A digital camera has a 2D image sensor designed as a CCD or CMOS sensor that can be used to measure distances based on a runtime measurement in synchronization with a pulsed infrared source. The measured distances are used to carry out a 3D reconstruction of a detected object. The digital camera does not have to have an infrared cut-off filter; however, it can have an infrared cut-off filter that can be dynamically activated in full or in part or deactivated in relation to pixels of the image sensor. In the latter event, individual areas of the image sensor, for which the infrared cut-off filter is deactivated, are used for the 3D reconstruction or for images in the infrared range. The remaining areas of the sensor are used for images of high color quality in the visible light spectrum. In the event that no infrared cut-off filter is present, individual areas of the image sensor are used for the 3D reconstruction or for images in the infrared range.
