Abstract: In various embodiments, methods, systems, and computer program products for processing digital images captured by a mobile device are disclosed. Myriad features enable and/or facilitate processing of such digital images using a mobile device that would otherwise be technically impossible or impractical, and furthermore address unique challenges presented by images captured using a camera rather than a traditional flat-bed scanner, paper-feed scanner or multifunction peripheral.

Abstract: A computer host is configured to perform a method for defining user attributes with associated verification values for social networking accounts. The attributes concern the user's personal characteristics or attributes. The host publishes the attribute information to other clients together with interactive objects for soliciting corroboration of the attribute information. The host receives feedback information from other account holders, such as survey response data, concerning the veracity of the attribute information. The host processes the evaluation information and the feedback information to provide a veracity score of each attribute reported for each account holder, or for collections of attributes, by weighing the evaluation information and feedback information by a computed reliability factor for each source from which processed information is obtained.

Abstract: Displaying a hierarchy. A method includes identifying a set of nodes representing sites in a hierarchy. The set of nodes share one or more common characteristics not shared by any other nodes in the hierarchy. The method further includes determining that the set of nodes, as a set, meet a predetermined condition. As a result of the nodes sharing the one or more common characteristics not shared by any other nodes in the hierarchy and as a result of the set meeting the predetermined condition, the method further includes aggregating at least a portion of the set of nodes. The method further includes displaying in a graphical user interface a representation of the hierarchy including displaying the aggregated portion as a single entity in the hierarchy.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and software for implementing enhanced menu presentation technology. In at least one implementation, a user interface to a personal information service is presented by a suitable computing system. The user interface includes a viewing pane and an information panel in which various personal information items may be organized. In response to a selection of any of the personal information items for viewing, content associated with the item is presented in the viewing pane. In addition, in response to an identification of an action group that includes multiple ones of the personal information items, an action menu is presented in at least a portion of a space in the user interface occupied by the viewing pane.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable mediums, and methods of co-browsing between a visitor and an operator are disclosed. The method may include sending the first UI event to the visitor, receiving from the visitor a first webpage data update indicating a first update to the active tab based on the first UI event, and sending the first webpage data update to the operator, on a condition of receiving a first user interface (UI) event regarding an active tab from the operator. The method may include sending the second webpage data update to the operator indicating the update to the active tab, on a condition of receiving a second webpage data update from the visitor indicating a second update to the active tab. If updates are received from both the visitor and operator a precedence may be used to determine which to process. Updates may be used to determine an active tab.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying text information in the form of a list is provided. A method for displaying text information according to the present invention includes displaying a list of at least one item representing text information and a partial content of the text information; and modifying, in response to a predetermined key input, the list to show whole content of the text information corresponding to the selected one item.

Abstract: A critical notification is reliably delivered to at least one participant in a real-time communication session. A candidate delivery channel is selected, and a set of one or more communication state variables associated with the candidate delivery channel are identified. Current values associated with the communication state variables and determined, and a determination is made as to whether the current values associated with the communication state variables indicate that the notification can currently be reliably delivered using the candidate delivery channel. If the notification cannot currently be reliably delivered using the candidate delivery channel, an alternative delivery option is selected that may include using an alternative delivery channel and/or delaying delivery of the notification.

Abstract: Navigating through objects or items in a display device using a first input device to detect pointing of a user's finger to an object or item and using a second input device to receive the user's indication on the selection of the object or the item. An image of the hand is captured by the first input device and is processed to determine a location on the display device corresponding to the location of the fingertip of the pointing finger. The object or the item corresponding to the location of the fingertip is selected after the second input device receives predetermined user input from the second input device.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for detecting objects in images. An object detection application receives a set of training images with object annotations. Given these training images, the object detection application generates semantic labeling for object detections, where the labeling includes lower-level subcategories and higher-level visual composites. In one embodiment, the object detection application identifies subcategories using an exemplar support vector machine (SVM) based clustering approach. Identified subcategories are used to initialize mixture components in mixture models which the object detection application trains in a latent SVM framework, thereby learning a number of subcategory classifiers that produce, for any given image, a set of candidate windows and associated subcategory labels.

Abstract: Providing supplemental contact information for an individual referenced in an electronic message typically includes receiving an electronic message, examining the electronic message, detecting an identifier for a referenced individual contained in the electronic message, and making supplemental contact information for the referenced individual available to a recipient of the electronic message. The supplemental contact information may include information that is in addition to information contained in the electronic message. The supplemental contact information may include at least one of an e-mail address, a screen name, a telephone number, a facsimile number, and a mailing address, each of which is associated with the referenced individual.

Abstract: A layer-based user interface for computing devices. In the layer-based user interface, the functionality of the device is distributed to layers and accessed via them. Each layer is composed of a number of components or features that are typically represented by icons. The components can present, for example, data or functions to the user. The components can be interactive or un-interactive. A subset of interactive components is navigational. Navigational components are a special case of the components because of their central role in the user interface concept.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided that include interactive electronic list features and functionality, but are not so limited. In an embodiment, a method is configured to enable users to directly manipulate list content and/or structure in context. A system of an embodiment includes at least one client and a server system to manage aspects of electronic lists, including providing visualization features that correspond with pre-selection, post-selection, and/or editing states or inputs. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is a data entry system for extracting data from an image. The system displays a number of data capture windows corresponding to data fields employed in a data processing application, such as accounting software. The system allows the user to position the capture windows over the associated data in the image and automatically extracts the digital string under the window as the value of the associated data field. The system then submits all the data field values to the data processing application as if the user had entered them directly into a data entry screen in the data processing application.

Abstract: A method for adjusting the sound volume of media clips using volume adjuster lines is provided. The volume adjuster lines are individually set for each clip based on the intrinsic, or absolute, volume values of the clip. In some embodiments, the volume adjuster lines are set for each clip based on the peak value or a calculated loudness equivalent of the clip. A user can move the volume adjuster line to set the absolute sound level of a clip. The volume adjuster lines can be hidden in some embodiments. In these embodiments, dragging on any portion of a clip is treated as dragging on the volume adjuster line. Some embodiments provide a deformable volume adjuster line, or curve. In these embodiments, a single audio clip can have several different volume adjuster lines for different sections of the clip where the volume adjuster line for each section is individually adjustable.

Abstract: To provide an information processing device capable of ensuring not to execute processing not intended by a user in a case of stopping the ongoing operation after selecting an object (for example, in selecting again an object other than the object already selected, or the like). In a case where one of a user's designated position is included in a determination area based on the position of one of the plurality of objects displayed in a screen, an object moving unit (56) moves the one object based on the one designated position. In a case where the object moving unit (56) moves first and second objects, a collision determination unit (58) determines whether or not the first and second objects have collided. A processing executing unit (60) executes processing relevant to the first and second objects based on a result of determination by the collision determination unit (58).

Abstract: Described are techniques for displaying data. A first set of data is received that includes a first plurality of objects at a first level in a hierarchy. At least some of the first plurality of objects are displayed on a user interface display. A first object is selected from the at least some of the first plurality of objects displayed on the user interface display. Responsive to selecting the first object, a second set of data is received that includes a second plurality of objects at a second level in the hierarchy. At least some of the second plurality of objects are displayed on the user interface display. The user interface display provides infinite scrolling of the first plurality of objects in a first portion of the user interface display and infinite scrolling of the second plurality of objects in a second portion of the user interface display.

Abstract: A system for presenting a utility consumption dashboard. The dashboard may have one or more panes for displaying energy or other utility consumption related information. A pane may indicate utility consumption and time periods of consumption. Data of utility consumption may be shown in terms of years, quarters or months, for different types of utility consumption such as electrical, gas, and so forth. Utility consumption may be noted in various contexts. Another pane may provide daily patterns related to utility consumption. Still another pane may provide a scatter plot of data points relating to utility consumption and temperature outside of the space. Dynamic interaction, including analysis, may involve utility consumption, time period, and temperature outside the space. A data or information point in any of the panes may be selected to reveal a tool tip that highlights details about the point.

Abstract: A method of searching for content in a touch screen device includes: receiving selection signals of first content and second content; extracting contents existing between the first content and the second content, and displaying two or more representative contents, the number of which corresponds to the number of contents that may be simultaneously displayed on a screen, among the extracted contents; and repeating the above processes by using the displayed two or more representative contents.
