Abstract: A waveguide structure for a compact and scalable dual-polarized antenna array. In one example, a waveguide device comprises septum polarizers dividing common waveguides into first waveguides associated with a first polarization and second waveguides associated with a second polarization. The sets of septum polarizers may be inverted relative to each other to form first groups of four adjacent first waveguides for each type of waveguide. The waveguide device may also include a waveguide feed network including a first waveguide feed stage including waveguide combiner/dividers coupled between the four adjacent waveguides intermediate waveguides. The waveguide device may further include a second waveguide feed stage coupled with the first intermediate waveguides and the second intermediate waveguides, wherein the second waveguide feed stage extends in a direction perpendicular to the first waveguide feed stage.

  • Patent number: 10087868
Abstract: An abnormality detector of a turbocharged engine includes: a compressor including a plurality of blades that are detected portions; and a detecting portion configured to electrically detect the plurality of blades. Each time the blades are detected a predetermined number of times, one pulse having a pulse width corresponding to a measurement time required to detect the blades is output, and a turbo revolution is calculated from the pulse width of the output pulse. When it is judged that a rotation change of the rotating body which change is calculated based on a pulse width of a first pulse and a pulse width of a second pulse output after the first pulse exceeds a predetermined rate in a region where the rotating body exceeds a predetermined revolution, it is determined that an abnormality of the blade or an electromagnetic noise abnormality of the detecting portion occurs.

  • Patent number: 10090590
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for enhanced antenna port isolation are disclosed. In one embodiment, a spatially compact patch antenna apparatus is disclosed. A plurality of walls are incorporated into the antenna assembly's bottom cover. The walls are located under the radiating element located on a top cover of the antenna assembly. The walls are in one implementation oriented orthogonally with respect to one another, and are placed adjacent to respective antenna feeds. The walls are then at least partly metallized using, for example, a laser direct structuring (LDS) process, and are further connected to a ground plane of an external substrate. By incorporating the metallized wall structures on the existing plastic structure of the bottom cover, isolation between the antenna ports is improved without requiring installation of additional components, use of slots in the ground plane, or increased physical separation (i.e., distance). Manufacturing cost and consistency are also advantageously improved.

  • Patent number: 10082030
Abstract: Expansion machines in thermodynamic cycles operate at low pressures, i.e. below 10 bar. The interplay among components including gas generator, expansion machine, heat exchangers and pressure reduction device (absorber or condenser) is optimized, resulting in configurations operating at the lowest achievable cost level. A single stage radial turbine characterized by a pressure ratio of 5-10, a dimensionless speed of about 0.7 and a loading coefficient of 0.7 is a preferred expansion machine for certain thermodynamic cycles involving CO2 gas to permit such radial turbines to operate close to their optimum design specification and highest efficiency level. Methods to handle liquids which may condense within or inside the turbine are also disclosed, as well as methods to handle axial pressure on bearings and methods to protect lubricant in bearings.
