  • Patent number: 11529955
Abstract: Among other things, we describe techniques for traffic light estimation using range sensors. A planning circuit of a vehicle traveling on a first drivable region that forms an intersection with a second drivable region receives information sensed by a range sensor of the vehicle. The information represents a movement state of an object through the intersection. A traffic signal at the intersection controls movement of objects through the intersection. The planning circuit determines a state of the traffic signal at the intersection based, in part, on the received information. A control circuit controls an operation of the vehicle based, in part, on the state of the traffic signal at the intersection.

  • Patent number: 11532221
Abstract: A monitoring system for a vehicle includes surveillance sensors configured to capture sensor data proximate to the vehicle. A position sensor is configured to detect a location of the vehicle. A controller is in communication with the surveillance sensors and the position sensor. The controller calculates a security score in response to security data based on the location of the vehicle and selects an active mode for the surveillance sensors in response to the security score. The active mode is selected from a plurality of surveillance modes that vary an active operation of the plurality of surveillance sensors. The controller may change or escalate the active mode and a corresponding monitoring operation (e.g., from a first mode to a second mode) in response to a security detection.

  • Patent number: 11530555
Abstract: Disclosed is a two-alarm security device that will alarm if the security device is forcibly removed from an article or item without detachment by a corresponding detachment device, and the security device will cause the pedestals in a store to alarm if the article or item is passed through the pedestals with the device still attached. The two-alarm security device comprises a slider operatively movable along a stop piece and a spring-biased engagement member that is operatively moveable into the housing of the stop piece. As the slider and engagement member move from an open position to a closed position, the security device alarm is actuated. A pressure pad attached to the engagement member assists in gently, but sufficiently securing an article between the slider and engagement member. If the article is improperly removed from the security device or otherwise tampered with, the spring-biased engagement member will cause a micro-switch to alarm.

  • Patent number: 11498475
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a projection device to project a light distribution for driver information in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle onto the ground in front of the motor vehicle. The light function of the projected light distribution is different from a low beam and a high beam light. During operation of the projection device within a predefined interval of the vehicle speed in the forward direction of the motor vehicle, an increase in the extent of the light distribution in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle occurs as the vehicle speed increases. The extent of the light distribution at each vehicle speed is thereby greater than or equal to the extent at lower vehicle speeds.

  • Patent number: 11488475
Abstract: A vehicle flow monitoring system for detecting both a car count and direction of movement of vehicles passing a point of interest. The vehicle flow monitoring system generally includes a car counter which may include a microcontroller and a pair of distance sensors. Each of the distance sensors is oriented toward a unique point of interest. Each of the distance sensors includes a threshold distance reading which is used to detect whether a vehicle has passed underneath the car counter. The system may determine direction of travel of the vehicle based on which of the distance sensors is passed by the vehicle first. The microcontroller may assign an Event ID to each time a vehicle passes each of the sensors, with the Event ID being used to identify when and if the vehicle should be counted, or whether a non-vehicle object has passed the car counter.
