  • Patent number: 6918208
Abstract: A window-regulating assembly selectively moves a window of a vehicle door between an open position and a closed position. The window-regulating assembly includes a rail that is fixedly secured to the vehicle door. The rail extends through a radius of curvature. A lift plate is slidably engaged with the rail. The lift plate is also secured to the window. The lift plate moves the window between the open and closed positions. A lead screw is secured to the rail. The lift plate travels along the lead screw to move the window between the open and closed positions. A drive motor is secured to lift plate. The drive motor receives electrical energy and converts the electrical energy into a selectively bidirectional rotational force to drive the lift plate over the lead screw. A pivot mount extends between the drive motor and the lift plate allowing the drive motor to move through the radius of curvature as the lift plate slides along the rail.

  • Patent number: 6907957
Abstract: A trench shield ladder that hangs on the wall of the trench shield to provide workmen safe access to a trench. The ladder is provided with a top platform and hand rails that extend over the platform. The ladder can be adjusted in length by employing an extension portion with hooks that hang the extension on the main rungs of the main ladder. The extension portion is not as wide as the main portion of the ladder so that the legs of the extension rest between the legs of the main portion of the ladder. The ladder and extension are provided with stand off arms that hold the main and extension rungs of the ladder away from the wall of the trench shield. The present invention is designed to fit on trench shields of varying thicknesses.

  • Patent number: 6901701
Abstract: A pre-cut, pre-painted shutter door includes a pair of vertical members available in a range of discrete or quantum heights, and having a two level slot along their length for engaging an upper and a lower panel to form the outer portions of a shutter door. Vertical members are preferably pre-tapped with bores to facilitate threaded member access to engagement for attachment to the upper and lower panels. The upper and lower panels have a curved surface to either facilitate direct manual pivoting of the louvers or to provide clearance for an optional common actuator bar. A louver pivot support fits within the two level slot of the vertical members and carries a series of pre-drilled holes for pivotally supporting the louvers. Both the vertical members, panels and louver member supports are of constant cross section to facilitate the use of finger joints and to promote continuous extrusion-type processing. A series of louvers have shafts which extend through pre-drilled holes in the louver pivot supports.

  • Patent number: 6892495
Abstract: A braking system for a vehicle manual window-lifting mechanism prevents a window from dropping as a consequence of vibrations and minimizes angular play in a crank shaft. The system includes a helical spring that assists the crank shaft and that has a geometry modified from its conventional design. An included angle between the radial side pieces at which the winding ends terminate is an acute angle. One of the side pieces is coupled inside a radial hollow of the crank-driven shaft itself. The other side piece is located between the crank shaft and the drum, which rotate relative to each other. As a result, instead of the usual 40° or 45° of free play, the invention allows a maximum free play of only 10° to 15° in the crank shaft.

  • Patent number: 6889854
Abstract: An adjustable snap-fit display assembly is used in a product display assembly. The display assembly stores and displays products of a variety of shapes and sizes and automatically delivers the products to the front of the display assembly. The adjustable display assembly includes a frame and a product supporting and feeding assembly. The product supporting and feeding assembly has tracks and, in some instances, dividers. The product tracks and dividers can be separately formed or integrated into a single component. The tracks and/or dividers are considered insertable components that can be added or removed as needed and that can be separated by varying distances depending on the width of product to be displayed. The insertable components generally are freely slideable and are snap-fit onto the frame. The product supporting and feeding assembly allows product to be fed forward to a front fence such that all or almost all of the available shelf depth can be used.
