  • Patent number: 7152323
Abstract: A flushing and flow guiding device for an electric nose hair cutter includes a spiral guiding plate located at an outer periphery of an inner blade seat. The spiral guiding plate has an outer radius, smaller than an inner radius of an outer blade seat. By a rotation of the inner blade seat, the spiral guiding plate can drive detergent filled in an inner barrel inside the outer blade seat. By rotating the spiral guiding plate clockwise or counterclockwise, the detergent can be sucked in from a front end of the outer blade seat of the nose hair cutter and then expelled through a periphery at a lower end of the outer blade seat, or can be sucked in from the periphery at the lower end of the outer blade seat, and then expelled through the front end, in order to flush nose hair debris in the blade seat.

  • Patent number: 7152325
Abstract: The powered tubing cutter is a hand held, mechanical device driven by a motor for cutting tubing/piping. The device comprises a housing, a drive plate, a main drive shaft, a cutting assembly having a cutting blade, a cam plate and a chain drive secured to a motor housing, having a handle, by a mounting bracket. The chain drive is powered by the motor, which causes the main drive shaft to rotate. The cutting assembly is pivotally secured to a pin on the main drive shaft. The pipe/tube to be cut is placed into the hole in the center of the housing and the main drive shaft. As the cutting assembly rotates with the main drive shaft the cam plate forces the cutting blade into cutting engagement with the tube/pipe.

  • Patent number: 7150102
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, the push-pull stripper-scraper comprises a single stripping blade and a quadruple-edged scraping blade. The stripping blade accommodates a sliding carrier plate which incorporates guide channels for sliding along the stripping blade. The carrier plate is adapted to retain the scraping blade, thus, the scraping blade moves in unison with the carrier plate as it shifts in position along the stripping blade. The carrier plate, stripping blade and scraping blade also include apertures through which a fastening means secures these respective components but which nevertheless selectively permits movement of the carrier plate along the stripping blade. Significantly, the device allows a user to switch between using the stripping blade and scraping blade, respectively, without changing tools. This is particularly advantageous when using the device in conjunction with an extension pole.

  • Patent number: 7146736
Abstract: An assisted opening folding knife having a blade with an engagement surface extending generally radially outwardly with respect to the pivot axis of the blade. A cantilevered leaf spring contacts the engagement surface and immediately urges the blade to the extended position upon the blade pivoting through a predetermined angle from the retracted position. An elongated engagement member is pivotally connected to the handle and configured for pivoting between a blade locking position and an unlocking position. In one embodiment, the cantilevered leaf spring also urges the engagement member towards the blade locking position. The engagement member automatically locks the blade in the extended position, and the cantilevered leaf spring, the blade, and the engagement member all substantially extend in the pivot plane.

  • Patent number: 7140113
Abstract: A blade of ceramic material is treated to enhance the strength and sharpness of the cutting edge. In one embodiment, ceramic particles along at least one margin of an edge-forming face are fused, such as by a laser treatment. The edge mardin can have a hard ceramic coating of a different ceramic material such as a nitride of chromium, zirconium, titanium, titanium carbon or boron. The hard ceramic coating can be used alone or in conjunction with the laser treatment. The invention includes the methods of treating the edge, both to form the hard ceramic coating and to fuse the particles by scanning with laser, such as an ultraviolet laser.

  • Patent number: 7131204
Abstract: A utility knife has a blade carrier defining a blade support surface movably mounted in a housing between retracted and extended positions. A catch is mounted on the blade carrier and is movable between a first position engagable with a blade seated on the blade carrier and substantially preventing the blade from moving relative to the blade carrier, and a second position spaced away from the blade located on the blade carrier and permitting removal of the blade from the blade carrier. An actuator is mounted on the blade carrier and is operable to move the blade carrier between the retracted and extended positions to, in turn, move a blade located on the blade carrier between retracted and extended positions, and move the catch between the first and second positions to release a blade from the blade carrier. The housing has a nose portion that defines the blade aperture and is made of a more wear-resistant material than the other portions of the housing.

  • Patent number: 7121009
Abstract: The can opener is a side-cutting opener with handle levers which pivot vertically towards and away from one another. A rotary cutter wheel is normally retracted to a position inside one of said handle levers, but is thrust outwardly to cut into the rim of the can when the handle levers are squeezed together. A drive wheel engages the rim and is rotated by means of a rotary drive handle to cut the top off the can. Spreading the handle levers apart causes the cutting wheel to retract at the end of the cutting operation to release the cut-off top of the can.
