Abstract: A tube cutter and process for cutting tubes, including a housing with a gear cluster therein and with the cluster providing for two separate drive controls to the cutter and the supporting rollers, both of which engage the tube to be cut. The drive controls are arranged to be relative one to the other so that the feed of the cutter against the tube to be cut can be regulated. Regulation may be achieved by different motor speeds or by a brake mechanism. The cutter automatically adjusts radially to the tube and revolves therearound in the cutting process.
Abstract: A lawn tool is provided having a drive assembly, a plurality of driven assemblies, and a connector that permits removal of a given driven assemblies from the drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a motor, a first tube, and a first shaft coupled to the motor and positioned to lie in the first tube. Each driven assembly includes an implement, a second tube, and a second drive shaft coupled to the implement and positioned to lie in the second tube. The connector includes a housing coupled to the first and second tubes and a trigger coupled to the housing for movement between a locking position coupling the first and second tubes together and a releasing position permitting removal of the second tube away from the first tube so that the driven assembly may be removed from the drive assembly.
Abstract: A multifunctional pocket knife, in particular a Swiss knife, has lateral sides serving as a handle, and including at least one cigar cutter able to pivot or slide in a plane parallel to the inner faces of the lateral sides. The cigar cutter includes two rounded scissor elements pivoting, one with respect to the other, about a first axis pivot. One end of the first element is able to pivot about a second axis pivot enabling the first element to be pulled out of the knife. A spring blade, which can be pulled out, allows the scissor elements to be kept spaced open when they are pulled out of the knife. The spring blade limits the pivoting path of the second element about the second pivot axis. An elastic back blade transmits a constant force to the second scissor element through the agency of the spring blade.
Abstract: A hand-held power working machine which is capable of reducing the weight of the clipper blades, capable of being suitably heat-treated in the manufacture thereof, and capable of minimizing the stress concentration at the slot portions during the operation thereof. The clipper blades comprise a large number of cutting edges, and a large number of slots formed along a full length of each of the clipper blades; wherein the pitch of array of the cutting edges is substantially the same as the pitch of array of the slots.
Abstract: A shear device includes a pair of handles having one end pivotally coupled together at a pivot shaft, and a pair of cutter blades secured to the handles and each having a notch. A knob is slidably engaged in the handles and includes a pin for engaging with the notches and for securing the cutter blades together. A button is slidably engaged in one of the handles. The knob includes a pawl for hooking to the button and for securing the knob to the button such that the knob may be secured to the handles and such that the pin may not be disengaged from the notches of the cutter blades.
Abstract: A hand-actuated scissors useable by an individual whose hands and fingers are weak or impaired and therefore experience difficulty in operating a conventional scissors. The scissors include a pair of blades whose cutting edges face each other, the blades being joined by a swivel pin whereby in an open state of the scissors the blades are angled with respect to each other. When the scissors are put into a closed state, the blades are then brought together to effect a cutting action. The handle sections of the blades which extend beyond the swivel pin are so shaped that in the open state the ends of these sections are widely spaced apart. Bridging the ends of the handle sections is a yoke defined by a saddle-shaped plate of resilient material forming a spring-loaded grip which normally maintain the scissors in an open state.
Abstract: A knife/sheath locking assembly for retaining a knife (10) or other tool within a sheath (16). Two flexible arms (18) extend outward from opposite sides of the open end (17) of the sheath (16). The handle (12) of the knife (10) includes two tunnel structures (32) located proximal to the blade (14) and spaced to cooperatively accept the flexible arms (18) of the sheath (16). Latch means disposed on each flexible arm (18) comprised of a recess or notch (29) retain the knife (10) within the sheath (16) by engaging a tooth (25) located in a corresponding position within each tunnel structure (32), and removal of the knife (10) requires the inward urging of the distal ends (22) of the flexible arms (18).
Abstract: A disengagement-preventing mechanism for a vibration isolator is interposed between an attachment sleeve portion of prime mover and an operating rod in a bush cutter. The disengagement-preventing mechanism includes an attachment sleeve portion, an attachment member which is to be inserted in and engaged with the attachment sleeve portion, and a C-shaped disengagement-preventing clip. The attachment sleeve portion is provided, at a peripheral wall thereof, with a clip-introducing slit extending in a circumferential direction of the attachment sleeve portion and with a clip-holding slit located so as to face the clip-introducing slit. The disengagement-preventing clip is adapted to be introduced from outside into the clip-introducing slit and brought into contact with an external end face of the attachment member. The clip is also adapted to be engaged, by way of the distal end portion thereof, with the clip-holding slit.

Abstract: A hand-held oscillation machine having, at its front end, an attachment neck for tools. A component such as a flattened hexagon projection and a radial screw, is provided at the rear flat side of the neck for receiving and attaching special tools so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative thereto. An oscillating body/intermediate holder is arranged between the attachment neck and a tool. This provides the advantage that all grinding tools and cutting tools for hand drills can be attached in the intermediate holder and can accordingly be used, and the sturdy, heavy design of the intermediate holder increases the oscillating energy so that greater pressure can be exerted on the workpiece to be machined, which enables faster machining.
