  • Patent number: 10376647
Abstract: An injection assembly includes a housing with a barrel positioned within the housing. The barrel includes an axis extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof and a chamber for storing medicine. An elongate anti-rotation shaft is rotationally fixed to the housing and has a non-circular cross-section. The injection assembly includes an inner screw having an inner screw opening to complementarily receive the anti-rotation shaft to prevent rotation of the inner screw with respect to the anti-rotation shaft but allow respective linear translation along the axis. An outer screw is positioned within, and rotatable with respect to, the housing and has an outer screw opening to threadably receive the inner screw, wherein rotation of the outer screw translates the inner screw along the axis and along the anti-rotation shaft. A plunger is coupled to the distal end of the inner screw and is moveable with respect to the chamber to push the medicine out of the chamber when the outer screw is rotated.

  • Patent number: 10376673
Abstract: A steerable guide catheter includes a tip ring at a distal end and one or more pullwires configured to engage with the tip ring when put in tension, the pullwire(s) thereby subjecting the steerable guide catheter to a curving or turning force. The tip ring includes a saddle and one or more pullwire channels allowing the pullwire to be looped over the saddle such that when the pullwire is placed under tension, it abuts against the saddle of the tip ring. Some embodiments include additional catheters axially aligned within or outside of the steerable guide catheter, and include a keying feature aligning the rotation of the multiple catheters. The keys of the keying feature can be formed of a polyamide with a glass microsphere filler, and can be thermally welded to the catheter.

  • Patent number: 10369280
Abstract: In an indwelling needle assembly, a safety mechanism part is provided with an outer-needle-hub engaging part to be engaged with an outer needle hub, and an engaging-part opposing wall. Relative rotation of the outer-needle-hub engaging part and the engaging-part opposing wall is restricted, and at least one of the outer-needle-hub engaging part and the engaging-part opposing wall displaces integrally with urging parts. When an inner needle is pulled out of the outer needle hub, a block part engaged with the inner needle through an inner-needle engaging part is moved relative to the urging parts and forced to a non-contact state, and the urging parts displace in a direction approaching the inner needle, thereby preventing a needle tip of the inner needle from protruding from the safety mechanism part and releasing engagement of the outer needle hub with the safety mechanism part.

  • Patent number: 10363372
Abstract: Plunger systems for expelling a liquid drug from a drug container within a wearable drug delivery device are provided. A rotation system coupled to a plunger rotates the plunger about a central axis of the plunger to overcome a static friction between the plunger and the drug container. After rotating the plunger, a drive system moves the plunger forward into the drug container to expel the liquid drug for delivery to the patient. A collapsible plunger includes a cavity. A radial torsion spring positioned in the cavity can provide an outward radial force on the collapsible plunger. The cavity enables the collapsible plunger to compress radially when entering and passing through a region of a drug container having a relatively narrower width. The radial torsion spring can radially expand the collapsible plunger when entering and passing through a region of the drug container having a relatively wider width.

  • Patent number: 10350392
Abstract: An intravascular catheter for peri-vascular or peri-urethral tissue ablation includes multiple needles advanced through supported guide tubes which expand around a central axis to engage the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the injection an ablative fluid for ablating tissue, such as nerve fibers in the outer layer or deep to the outer layer of the vessel, or in prostatic tissue. The system may also control the depth of penetration of the ablative fluid into and beyond the tissue of the vessel wall. The catheter may also include structures which provide radial or lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes expand uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened injection needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall.
