Abstract: Partitioned key-value stores with one-sided communications are provided for secondary global key lookup by range-knowledgeable clients. A secondary global lookups is performed in a partitioned key-value store by receiving a request from an application for a secondary global key; accessing metadata to identify a first server storing the secondary global key; instructing the identified first server to store a first value corresponding to the requested secondary global key into a memory address of the client; and returning program control to the application, wherein the first server identifies a primary key corresponding to the requested secondary global key and instructs a second server storing the corresponding primary key to store a second value corresponding to the primary key into the memory address of the client. The second server stores the second value corresponding to the primary key into the first memory address of the client.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses can provide staged migration from one or more user accounts from a source system to a destination system using an application local to the source systems. The automated staged data migration can provide coordinated staged data migration of large amounts of data in a single automated process. The system can provide automated and remotely controlled staged migrations of data that may perform source system type detection and work with multiple types of systems.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed for multi-level service discovery. In some examples, a first level of information indicating a service type for a service provided by a first wireless device may be transmitted by the first wireless device to another wireless device. The first level may enable the other wireless device to determine whether the indicated service type at least partially matches a service interest. A second level may then be transmitted by the first wireless device that includes a service identification to enable the other wireless device to determine whether the service substantially matches a service interest for the other wireless device. A third level may then be transmitted from the first wireless device that includes service content information. The third level may be transmitted responsive to the other wireless device requesting the service content information. Other examples are described and claimed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for online distribution of content by receiving, from a user's mobile device, a request for a web page hosted by a publisher's CMS; applying a rules engine to analyze a received URL according to a set of rules identifying one or more website types and/or referrers; if the received URL satisfies the rules engine, redirecting the received request to a syndication server system hosted within a global CDN; adding a URL of the web page to a missing content queue and redirecting the request to the publisher's CMS if the CDN syndication server does not contain a suitable mobile-formatted version of the web page; and delivering a package of binary compressed content of the web page to a stub page cached at the user's mobile device by the CDN syndication server, using recirculation and monetization components chosen by the publisher.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing services that are adapted to the access networks of end users (10). By providing defined information to a residential gateway (110) and/or an access network provider (12) a service provider (18) enables the access network provider (12) to open a dedicated communications channel (20) between itself and the service provider. The service provider can use this channel to request information about the capabilities of the end user's access network as well as for requesting conditioning of data streams sent to said end user.

Abstract: A device may receive an update playlist file that lists segments of a content stream in an order that the segments are to be recombined by a client device; update a live playlist file based on the update playlist file; update a time playlist file by appending segment identifiers, which are included in the update playlist file and not included in the time playlist file, to the time playlist file; create a new playlist file that includes the segment identifiers and that does not include other segment identifiers; and send one of the live playlist file, time playlist file, or the new playlist file to a client device.

Abstract: It is provided a method for synchronizing content playback at the presentation level, wherein, a first content is presented on a first device and a second content that is the same as or correlated with the first content is presented on a second device. The method comprises steps of receiving status messages from the first device and the second device, wherein the status messages comprise information about playback positions of the first content and the second content currently being playbacked at the presentation level of the first device and the second device; and in response to differences between playback positions of the first content and the second content comprised in the status messages being above a threshold value, performing adjustment to maintain difference of playback positions of the first content and the second content at the presentation level of the first device and the second device below the threshold value.

Abstract: Generating processed web address information is disclosed, including: receiving a request to share a webpage, wherein the request includes at least a first web address information associated with the webpage and user identification information associated with a first user; generating a second web address information based at least in part on the first web address information and the user identification information associated with the first user; and presenting the second web address information.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for ensuring quality of a check-in stream for an application. During operation, the system initially receives a check-in stream metric for the application. The system also receives a threshold metric value for the check-in stream metric. Next, the system calculates a metric value based on the check-in stream and the received check-in stream metric for the application. The system determines whether the calculated metric value satisfies the received threshold metric value, and in response to the calculated metric value satisfying the received threshold metric value, executes the application using the check-in stream.
