  • Patent number: 5100105
Abstract: A lifting and lowering system for a trailer includes one or more extendible and retractable legs, with the legs being provided with springs or the like urging the legs toward their retracted position. The system is a pressurized air/hydraulic system, and includes an air-operated booster valve for extending the legs when loaded. A master valve assembly is provided for controlling supply of air to the system and for allowing retraction of the legs. The master valve and air valve include a common actuator shaft so that the system is selectively connected to pressurized air or vented, as appropriate, when leg extension or retraction occurs. The master valve includes a cam actuator/cam follower piston operated system for selectively providing fluid pressure to a lock valve associated with each leg. The lock valve is biased toward a normally closed position, and is selectively movable to an open position for allowing extension or retraction of the legs.

  • Patent number: 5098066
Abstract: A hanging jack clamp for hanging a jack upside down in a vertical orientation comprised of a bottom component, a top component, and threaded-rod-and-coacting-cylinder combination connected therebetween. The bottom component includes a base with an outer upright and an inner upright which encompass a portion of the grade beam or similar part of the foundation. Additional securement by threaded clamps can be used to more securely position the clamp if desired. A pad for distributing load forces is spread on the upper surface of the base of the bottom component where it contacts the grade beam. The top component has a member with horizontal holes through which rods are inserted. These holes are aligned with predrilled holes in the mortar between the first row of bricks and the foundation so that the rods are inserted through the holes in the horizontal member and into the holes in the mortar.

  • Patent number: 5097582
Abstract: An apparatus for the exact positioning and fastening of several parts, which have an opening, onto a hollow body, whereby, in the initial state, the opening of said parts, which are to be fastened, is larger than the dimensions of the respective fastening positions of the hollow body. Before the fastening process is carried out by hydraulically expanding the hollow body, the parts are positioned at the respective fastening positions of the hollow body by placing the parts into the depressions of a mold, which comprises at least two parts. The hydraulic fluid is introduced into the hollow body via an inlet element, which is attached to the mold. To prevent leakage of the fluid and contamination of the workpiece, there is an expandable elastic container for the hydraulic fluid, disposed at the inlet element, which adjoins to one end of the hollow body. The container is inserted into the hollow body and is held by a support on its free face.

  • Patent number: 5096161
Abstract: The apparatus described herein comprises a device for easily lifting and positioning a vehicle wheel, particularly to facilitate the lifting and positioning of a wheel for a truck or recreational vehicle onto the axle of the same and appropriately positioning the wheel for insertion of the lugs thereon. With the axle jacked to an appropriate raised position and the wheel resting on the ground next to the wheel base, two sections of the device are placed under the curvature of the wheel, a section on each side of the resting area and the sections connected to each other to prevent their separation during the lifting operation. Each section is adapted to perform an independent lifting operation on the wheel, the contact of each section with the wheel being by means of a cylindrical roller free to rotate on its axis. The joining section of the apparatus is positioned in front of the wheel and the rollers on which the wheel will rest extend under at least a substantial portion of the width of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 5092571
Abstract: Disclosed is a molded plastic sawbuck having two end supports and a crossbar. Each end support has a hub and four integrally molded support legs radiating therefrom. The crossbar can be integrally molded to the hubs of the end supports or the end supports may have a bore in the hub for detachable association with the crossbar. The crossbar is preferably non circular in cross section and has a spinner thereon which protects the crossbar from the chainsaw. Two legs of each end support are shorter than the other two legs and the relative orientation and length of the leg is such that the sawbuck can be rotated from its normal position so that material to be cut such as a log can be supported on sloping ground or supported on level ground such that the height a heavy log has to be lifted over the tops of the legs is reduced. The legs may have apertures or apertured lugs associated therewith whereby a carrying strap can be connected to the sawback to carry it into the bush.
