Abstract: An input control device includes a detection unit configured to detect a first character input by a key operation. The input control device also includes a determination unit configured to determine whether or not the detected first character is the same as a second character input immediately before the first character, and an input processing unit configured to accept an input of the first character when it is determined that the first character is not the same as the second character without accepting the input of the first character when it is determined that the first character is the same as the second character.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a DC-to-AC converter comprising a first output terminal and a second output terminal. The apparatus also includes a DC-to-DC converter comprising a third output. The DC-to-AC converter is configured to receive a DC input voltage from a DC power source, and to produce a first alternating output voltage at the first output terminal, and a second alternating output voltage at the second output terminal. The DC-to-DC converter is configured receive a DC input voltage from the DC power source, and to step down the DC input voltage at the third output.

Abstract: A control system for a vehicle may include a plurality of vehicle subsystems associated with respective different dynamic vehicle control functions and a plurality of subsystem controllers associated with respective ones of the vehicle subsystems. The subsystem controllers may be configured to control actuators associated with the respective different dynamic vehicle control functions to change an operational state of components of the vehicle subsystems based on respective configuration settings. The system further includes an attribute configuration module operably coupled to the subsystem controllers. The attribute configuration module may include processing circuitry configured to save current configuration settings as a saved configuration responsive to a first actuation of a configuration mode actuator and, after an on/off cycle of the vehicle, instruct the subsystem controllers to implement the saved configuration responsive to a second actuation of the configuration mode actuator.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for visual field translation are disclosed, including providing an apparatus comprising: a platform; first and second left eye mirrors and first and second right eye mirrors coupled to the platform, wherein the left eye and right eye mirrors are configured to redirect light reflecting or emanating from an object onto regions of the user's retinas unaffected by scotomas; wherein the first left eye mirror and the first right eye mirror are positioned to approximately match a pupillary distance between the user's eyes; and viewing into the apparatus and making adjustments to one or more of the first left eye mirror, the second left eye mirror, the first right eye mirror, and the second right eye mirror in order to translate the user's central vision axis onto regions of the user's retinas unaffected by scotomas. Reusable face masks can comprise a single piece mask body configured to cover a nose and a mouth of a human face and comprising at least one filter attachment port, wherein the at least one filter attachment port comprises a filter support structure, defines an opening in the mask body, and extends from the exterior surface of the mask body; wherein the at least one filter attachment port is configured to connect to a replaceable filter and support the replaceable filter by separating portions of filter media of the replaceable filter when the replaceable filter is attached to the at least one filter attachment port.

Abstract: A method of designing a cement slurry may include: (a) selecting a target permeability and a density requirement; (b) inputting the target permeability into a permeability model and generating a proposed cement composition using the permeability model, wherein the proposed cement composition comprises at least a cement and concentration thereof, and a water and concentration thereof such that a cement slurry formed from the proposed cement composition water meet the density requirement; (c) preparing the cement slurry based on the proposed cement composition; and (d) introducing the cement slurry into a wellbore and allowing the cement slurry to set to form a hardened cement.

Abstract: A shovel includes a lower traveling body, an upper turning body turnably attached to the lower traveling body, an actuator mounted on the lower traveling body or the upper turning body, and a controller configured to set a prohibited area for an obstacle located in a work area and restrict movement of the actuator. The controller determines whether the shovel has entered the prohibited area, and slows or stops movement of the shovel in response to determining that the shovel enters the prohibited area.

Abstract: A work machine includes work equipment. A control device of the work machine includes a trajectory generation unit, and an operation signal output unit. The trajectory generation unit generates a target trajectory of the work equipment according to an excavation curve ratio determined in advance. The excavation curve ratio is expressed as a ratio of an excavation depth to an excavation length. The operation signal output unit outputs an operation signal for the work equipment according to the target trajectory.
