Patent number: 7827092Abstract: A system and method for trading financial instruments from a master account having a plurality of sub-accounts. A user defines an account group, which includes a plurality of sub-accounts, and the user selects an allocation model for the account group from a group of allocation models. After executing an order of financial instruments for the account group, the order is allocated to the sub-accounts using the allocation model. Prior to executing the order, a financial capability of the account group to execute the order using a primary allocation model is evaluated, and a secondary allocation model is used if the order cannot be allocated using the primary allocation model. The financial capability of the account group may be evaluated in real-time, and a partially executed order may also be allocated to the sub-accounts in real-time. Upon the execution of the order being completed, the order is reallocated to the sub-accounts using the selected allocation model.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2005Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: Interactive Brokers LLCInventors: Jonathan Chait, Thomas P. Patent number: 7792742Abstract: Embodiments consistent with the present invention provide a credit enhancement structure for risk allocation between parties that minimizes the regulatory capital reserve requirement impact to an institution subject to capital reserve requirement. A subject pool of assets held by the institution, such as a pool of loans, is rated to determine its risk levels. Based on the rated risk levels, a guarantor party agrees to be responsible for a portion of the risk associated with the pool of assets, which may define the maximum risk exposure of the institution holding the asset pool. The risk-rated capital reserve requirements are applied to the asset pool based on the risk level rating and the guarantor's agreed upon risk responsibility such that the institution holds a reduced amount of reserve capital compared to what it would otherwise be required to hold.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2004Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Assignee: Federal Home Loan Mortgage CorporationInventors: Paul A. Patent number: 7788155Abstract: A financial advisory system is provided. According to one aspect of the present invention, return scenarios for optimized portfolio allocations are simulated interactively to facilitate financial product selection. Return scenarios for each asset class of a plurality of asset classes are generated based upon estimated future scenarios of one or more economic factors. A mapping from each financial product of an available set of financial products onto one or more asset classes of the plurality of asset classes is created by determining exposures of the available set of financial products to each asset class of the plurality of asset classes. In this way, the expected returns and correlations of a plurality of financial products are generated and used to produce optimized portfolios of financial products. Return scenarios are simulated for one or more portfolios including combinations of financial products from the available set of financial products based upon the mapping.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2005Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Assignee: Financial Engines, Inc.Inventors: Christopher L.
