  • Patent number: 8722602
Abstract: Grease which includes a base oil containing at least 50% by mass of a specific diester compound of a glycol with a branched carboxylic acid, and a specific diurea compound as a thickener. The grease is excellent in low-temperature performance and has low oil separation tendency. In particular, when used in a rotation transmission device having a built-in one-way clutch, the grease can provide satisfactory clutch engagement performance (intermeshing) at low temperatures and is less apt to cause oil separation under high centrifugal force.

  • Patent number: 8722591
Abstract: Disclosed is an environmentally conscious, odor-free lighter fluid mixture comprising a 50-70% ethanol and 30-50% biodiesel combination. Methyl-ester, ethyl-ester and propyl-ester fatty acids, commonly referred to as biodiesel, are clean burning fuels derived from new or waste vegetable oil such as soybean, canola or sunflower. Combined with an ethanol accelerant, the mixture provides a lighter fluid that is easily ignitable without risk of detonation or explosion, and one that brings charcoal briquettes up to temperature quicker than traditional methods. The mixture is petroleum free, which eliminates the associated unpleasant odors and potential health risks of traditional lighter fluid, including a reduction in the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the environment. The mixture offers a renewable, sustainable, and efficient ignition source for charcoal that does not sacrifice utility compared to traditional lighter fluid, and does not impart undesirable flavors onto grilled food.

  • Patent number: 8613781
Abstract: A lignin plastics solids mass containing lignin solids and liquids with up to 85% liquids can be partially dewatered by heating the lignin plastics solids mass to above a critical temperature at which time the lignin plastics solids agglomerate into lower moisture granular solids with between about 45% to 55% liquids releasing excess liquid which can be easily removed from the solids. The process is particularly useful for lignin plastics solids removed from black liquor from paper mills, or for similar lignin plastics solids masses, which can contain up to 85% liquids and which need to be dried to form useful lignin solids, which can be used for example for fuel. The dewatering process can be combined with the process for separating the lignin from the black liquor to separate the dewatered lignin directly from the black liquor.

  • Patent number: 8608813
Abstract: Disclosed are eco-friendly and low-price solid fuel, which is naturally dried, and a method of manufacturing the same. Disposable diapers or disposable sanitary pads, which are failed during the manufacturing process, are used to produce industrial alternative fuel having a low price through a predetermined process, so solid fuel having no pollution problem in combustion is provided. The solid fuel is mainly made of synthetic resin-pulp scrap including synthetic resin integrated with pulp like the disposable diapers or the disposable sanitary pads. The method includes introducing a scrap, such as the wasted disposable diaper or the wasted disposable sanitary pad, including synthetic resin integrated with pulp into a crusher to break the scrap into fragments, adding a slight amount of waste cooking oil serving as a binding agent to the fragments, performing an extrusion-molding with respect to the fragments, cutting the extrusion-molded fragments to make pallets, and then drying pallets.

  • Patent number: 8579999
Abstract: The present invention harvests and utilizes fluidized bed drying technology and waste heat streams augmented by other available heat sources to dry feedstock or fuel. This method is useful in many industries, including coal-fired power plants. Coal is dried using the present invention before it goes to coal pulverizers and on to the furnace/boiler arrangement. Coal can be intercepted on current coal feed systems ahead of the pulverizers. Drying fuel, such as coal, is done to improve boiler efficiency and reduce emissions. A two-stage bed utilized in the process first “pre-dries and separates” the feed stream into desirable and undesirable feedstock. Then, it incrementally dries and segregates fluidizable and non-fluidizable material from the product stream. This is all completed in a low-temperature, open-air system. Elevation of fan room air temperature is also accomplished using waste heat, thereby making available to the plant system higher temperature media to enhance the feedstock drying process.
