  • Patent number: 5024486
Abstract: The present invention provides for a power operated chair that can be operated in a rock and swivel, recline, or lift mode or any combination thereof. The chair is specifically designed to prevent the rocking and swiveling motion when the occupant is using the lift or recline features of the chair. The chair uses a recline mechanical linkage and a seat lift mechanical linkage that are mechanically linked by a guide roller in a guide channel which permits the use of a single drive motor and provides for a smooth transition from the recline mode to the lift mode. The guide roller and guide channel also prevent the inadvertent lifting of the seat if the back of the chair is forcibly reclined.

  • Patent number: 5024015
Abstract: A portable advertisement display utilizing a plurality of lightweight panels pivotally interconnected by hinges. The panels themselves are constructed of a polystyrene core located intermediate two rigid pressboard panels. Such material is very lightweight but will not accommodate direct connection of hinges. A channel member is secured to selected lateral edges of each panel to provide a stable base on which to connect the hinges. Each panel is sheathed in fabric characteristic of the looped facing of hook-and-loop adhesive material. The panels may be detachably connected in vertical orientation of one another by magnetic strips located on the upper and lower marginal edge of each panel. Advertisement items such as signs or placards are attached to the present invention with strips of fabric characteristic of the hooked portion of hook-and-loop adhesive material.

  • Patent number: 5020255
Abstract: A card holder has a moulded body for holding a plurality of cards. The moulded body comprises a base wall and two spaced side walls extending from the base wall. The side walls have channels for holding cards in a spaced relationship with respect to each other. The channels have access openings at their one end for permitting insertion of cards into and removal of cards from the channels. The card holder has a resiliently displaceable retaining tab extending from the body. The retaining tab is integral with the base wall. The tab has a lug at its free end. The retaining tab is displaceable from a first position, in which the lug restricts the removal of a card held in the channels to a second position in which a card can be inserted into and removed from the channels, via the access openings. The body of the card holder also has a hole formed therein, for attaching a key ring to the card holder.

  • Patent number: 5016374
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for receiving essentially planar products, preferably graphic products, which includes two or several frames. Each frame can receive two such products and is formed by four frame members with a longitudinal first flange and a second flange located at one longitudinal narrow side of the first flange. A product inserted into the frame engages the first flanges of the four frame members with its one side and abuts the other flanges with its side edges. The frames are sidewardly hingedly interconnected by means of band-shaped hinges, these band-shaped hinges being designed with two ends and provided with a resilient folding or bending at each end, which is arranged to be received and/or restrained between two opposing walls defining a space in a respective frame member.

  • Patent number: 5003717
Abstract: A sign composed of modules mounted adjacent each other. Each module having laterally spaced apart side wall members and a pair of longitudinally spaced apart parallel rollers mounted between the side wall members for rotating. Opposite end portions of a web containing a series of indicia are wound on the rollers, respectively, such that a selected indicia can be positioned in viewing position by winding web on one roller while unwinding it on the other roller. There are motor means mounted inside of each of the rollers for rotating the rollers to translate the web. In the depicted embodiment, an electric motor means is mounted inside of one of the rollers and a constant force spring motor means is mounted on the inside of the other of the rollers. The motors oppose each other in such a way that the web is maintained taut between them.

  • Patent number: 5000514
Abstract: A miniature rocking chair is composed of five separate, generally planar, interlocking members: two identical side members, a back member having a rear seat support transversely formed thereon, a seat member, and a front seat support and locking member. The back member is attached to the two side members by upward facing openings on its side edges engaging downward facing openings on the back edge of the side members. The seat member is connected to the side members through rearward facing openings which engage a forward facing opening in each side member, the rear edge of the seat member occupying a position atop the rear seat support member. The front seat support and locking member then is inserted within the forward facing opening of the side members, beneath the seat member, to a position where openings formed in its bottom edge are aligned with notches formed in the lower edge of the forward facing opening of the seat member.

  • Patent number: 4991329
Abstract: A clip formed from a resilient wire rod having a circular cross sectional configuration utilized for installing a canvas stretcher frame within a decorative picture frame. The clip has an elongated central body portion connecting first and second legs at opposite ends thereof. A sharpened projection extends from the free end of a first leg while a resiliently deformable retaining portion is formed adjacent the free end of the second leg. The diameter of the wire rod is smaller than the clearance space formed between the rabbet groove of the picture frame and the adjacent rail or stile of the stretcher frame. The first leg is inserted into the clearance space with the central portion overlaying the clearance space portion of the rearwardly facing edge of the rabbet groove, and thereafter the clip is rotated so the central section swings over the adjacent rail or stile of the stretcher frame.

  • Patent number: 4980984
Abstract: A flexible highway safety sign capable of being rolled up for storage and portability and mounting a high-way flag. The safety sign is useful with flexible frame members that allow the mounted sign to bend in response to winds and wind gusts without tipping over and taking a set. The frame members include a clamping assembly for mounting a plurality of flag arms with the highway sign. The clamping assembly permits a pair of flag arms to be pivotally secured thereto between a flat displaying position and a storage position. The storage position allows the flag arms to assume a side-by-side relationship with the folded frame members to the sign to permit the flexible sign to be wreapped around the members for storage and/or transport.
