  • Patent number: 10302241
Abstract: A protective shield device is mounted on the joint between connected concrete hoses to protect the joint connecting one concrete hose to another from accidentally catching on an obstruction on the surface over which the concrete hose joint is moved during operation and disconnecting the two concrete hoses. The protective shield device is formed by two hollow shells that are hinged on one side and connected by friction closure members to surround and encapsulate the concrete hose joint. The assembled protective shield device is preferably in the shape of an ovoid with a larger central portion to accommodate the joint structure, and narrower end portions to provide no protruding structure that will catch any underlying obstructions that could cause the enclosed joint latch to be exposed. The protective shield device can be opened by forcing the two shell members apart, or by using a mechanically disengagable latch.

  • Patent number: 10295099
Abstract: A method and apparatus for an improved safety cam lock fitting having double cam levers having outer and inner portions so that when the outer cam levers are opened and the inner cam lever remain closed, the male and female portions of the cam lock fitting only slightly separate from each other allowing the operator to quickly reclose the cam lock fitting if the operator observes that the cam lock fitting still contains pressurized material. This is accomplished by providing a larger cam lobe on the outer cam lever and a smaller cam lobe on the inner cam lever so that when the smaller cam lobe is in a closed position and protrudes into a peripheral groove on the male portion the male and female ends have a small space therein between. Various configurations of the cam portions relative to each other are provided. Various lever locking assemblies may be used to prevent the cam levers from being inadvertently opened.

  • Patent number: 10253907
Abstract: A fluorine gas functionalized surface of a fixture is chemically bonded to a fiberglass sump using a resin. The resin chemically reacts with the functionalized surface creating a strong, chemical bond between the fixture, which penetrates the shell of the sump, and the fiberglass shell of the sump. For example, the surface of the fixture is functionalized by a fluorine-containing gas mixture in an autoclave at a temperature, pressure and duration that creates C?O double bonds at the surface of a polyethylene fixture. The resin chemically reacts with the C?O double bonds and bonds with a fiberglass transition fitting capable of being joined to the shell of the sump.

  • Patent number: 10246948
Abstract: A process for treating a pin having an external threaded portion and a box having an internal threaded portion wherein the process provides a threadable joint having a high galling resistance. One embodiment of the present invention includes applying a lubricant on the threaded portion of at least one of the pin and box. The threadable joint is made up by threadably engaging the threaded portions of the pin and box to a recommended torque according to the American Petroleum Institute and then breaking out the threaded joint. The making up and breaking out step with lubricant applied on the threaded portion of at least one of the pin and box is performed a plurality of times.
