The other end of the hose is clamped to a reducer and a water control valve, such as a spigot. The assembly interrupts electrical surges from lightning from passing into the metal exterior valves on the sides of buildings and houses, which can damage the inside metal plumbing, such as the copper plumbing in the buildings and houses.
