    Abstract: A portable saw mill apparatus includes a frame carrying supporting wheels, outriggers and a trailer hitch. A horizontal, unitized tubular track is secured to the frame and a carriage is moveable along said track. Mounted on the carriage is a horizontal, cantilevered band saw which is moveable vertically. Logs are received on support members secured to the frame, and the band saw is moved longitudinally of the frame to make successive cuts of the saw. Lowering of the band saw between successive passes provides for spacing of the cuts of the log. A single lever control enables the operator to positively engage or brake the band saw, and also to control the engine throttle.

The externally toothed gear member is connected to a rotatable valve member and reciprocatable and rotatable output shaft by a cardan type shaft. Each claw has a jaw comprising three gripping elements positioned essentially at the vertices of an equilateral triangle, one gripping element being fixed to the base and the other gripping elements being movably mounted on the branches at opposite sides of the opening. One claw comprises a pair of parts relatively movable vertically to form a viewing opening when the machine is not applying torque.

The center hole has the top portion smaller than the knob and another portion larger than the knob. An air supply valve 33 substantially reduces the air consumption of the tool by keeping the air supply to the secondary motor 12 shut off until a certain degree of tightness in the joint is obtained, after which the valve 33 is opened and the secondary motor 12 is energized.
