A publisher is identified, the package of assets is provided to the publisher, and an application incorporating items from the package of assets is received. In another implementation, a package of assets substantially complying with a standard is prepared, an application is received from a publisher, and a version of the application is generated, replacing references in the application to items defined in a standard with items of content from the package of assets.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for the facilitation of authorized in-store pickup in conjunction with online ordering. A request to process an order of an item selected by a customer and placed through a website may be received. The website may be transformed to a cart fulfillment web page including a fulfillment interface. Through the fulfillment interface, a selection of an option for in-store pickup by a third party may be received from the customer. Through the fulfillment interface, identifying information regarding the third party, pickup details associated with the in-store pickup of the item by the third party, and a preferred notification method for contacting the third party may also be received from the customer. An authorization pickup record related to the in-store pickup of the item by the third party may be generated. The authorization pickup record may be transmitted to the third party via the preferred notification method.

Abstract: Financial security and coverage may be reviewed at a comprehensive level by evaluating an ownership status of an entity relative to multiple types of financial products. Based on results of the review, recommendations for one or more financial products may be provided. Additionally or alternatively, the recommendations and products may be ranked or prioritized. According to another aspect, the review of the entity's financial security and coverage may be represented graphically. For example, types of financial products may be represented by icons (e.g., pictograms) with various visual attributes (e.g., color, transparency, pattern, size, etc.) indicating the entity's ownership status. Potential gaps in the entity's financial coverage may be represented with a specified visual element such as a warning symbol or the like. The graphical depiction may allow an entity to better appreciate the spectrum of available financial product types and potential risks in the entity's current financial coverage profile.

Abstract: A system and method for transferring ownership of disc storage media utilizing unique disc identification includes a disc storage medium with a permanently recorded disc identification, a user console with a set identification, a network, and a host server managing a user database and a disc database. Upon purchase of software stored on a disc storage medium, the unique disc identification and user identification are transmitted over the network from the user console to the host server. The host server grants the user console access permission to the programs residing on the disc storage medium and performs the disc ownership transfer transactions.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating item returns on behalf of customers of an electronic commerce site. Embodiments of the disclosure can, in one example, facilitate item returns on behalf of a buyer where the seller is a seller in a multi-seller marketplace. A return shipping label can be generated on behalf of the seller as well as communications between buyer and seller archived in the event of a subsequent dispute.

Abstract: A user interface for displaying retail search results is disclosed. The system and methods allow users to search for a plurality of retail items while simultaneously viewing a plurality of search results for each of the plurality of retail items. This interface allows users to easily compare the search results for each retail item, and to purchase a plurality of retail items simultaneously. In one example of the present disclosure, users may enter a plurality of retail items into a shopping list. The system may then display multiple results for each item on the shopping list in a carousel-like user interface, so users may view a plurality of results for a plurality of items simultaneously.

Abstract: A distributed order orchestration system provides a plurality of representations of a product, such as a sales-centric representation of a product and a fulfillment-centric representation of a product. The distributed order orchestration system captures an order associated with the product, and creates a sales order based on the sales-centric representation of the product. The distributed order orchestration system then transform the sales order into a fulfillment order, where the fulfillment order is based on the fulfillment-centric representation of the product. As part of the transformation, product information that is associated with the sales order is transformed into product information that is associated with the fulfillment order, using one or more product transformation rules.

Abstract: Permit applications for construction or property improvement projects can be processed for multiple jurisdictions at the same time through a networked system. A kiosk can be provided as a central point of interaction for the user. A property address is received from the user and compared with multiple jurisdictions to determine one or more jurisdictions in which the property address is located. Permit requirement information for each of the jurisdictions is output for the user. Permit application information is then received from the user. The permit application information includes electronic fee payment information. A permit application can then be transmitted to at least one of the jurisdictions. If the permit is approved, one or more permits are received from the jurisdictions. The kiosk or other device can print paper copies of the permits for the user or provide them in electronic format.

A selection of an action to be performed with respect to the item is received. The action is performed with respect to the item, with the action being performed between the electronic commerce file system and the electronic commerce provider via a network.

Abstract: A system and method for a sales transaction system (STS) in a social media network is presented. The invention provides a simple way to sell and purchase products in a social media environment allowing sellers to easily set up campaigns of a group of products they wish to sell. A member of the social network simply types a purchase direction statement (PDS) that is a keyword to indicate their desire to buy a listed product. The STS detects the PDS and invoices the buyer, updating the seller as to the completed payment, and directing them to ship to the appropriate address.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to improve the handling of in-store customer requests for assistance, generate feedback and use data generated by customer requests for assistance. A customer input device, such as a placard, hand-held or cart carried mobile device, enables customers to request assistance and immediately and easily grade the assistance they receive. In one embodiment, the communication from such customer input device is automatically routed to individual(s) having responsibility for the department from which the customer's request for assistance has emanated. In other aspects, the response times, self expressed customer satisfaction scores and subsequent sales results are compiled and collated to improve customer service, and enable management to develop an appropriate reward or sanction system for sales employees.

The social networking system sends a gift suggestion to one or more friends of the target user, where the gift suggestion identifies the predicted life event and provides the gift suggestion to the target user's friend. The advertisement may require action by multiple of the target user's friends before the gift is sent to the target user.
