Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media that may be used to generate a virtual reality simulation of a shopping environment are provided. One method includes generating one or more smart objects from a set of simulation data describing the shopping environment. The method further includes generating the virtual reality simulation that includes the one or more smart objects and presenting the virtual reality simulation to the simulation participant on a virtual reality display platform. The virtual reality display platform includes one or more touch screen display devices. The method further includes, each time the participant touches the one or more touch screen display devices on an area in which one of the smart objects is displayed, generating a touching record indicating that the participant touched the respective one of the smart objects. The method further includes storing each generated touching record in a memory.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable products are provided for enabling dynamic loading of one or more digital image branding functions associated with one or more distribution rules. A distribution rule is used to target a group of end users that are selected from a dataset mapping a plurality of end-users according to one or more distribution rules. Instructions are forwarded to present an indication the digital image branding function to each member of the end users group.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products provide for generating a social network-based wish list of products desired by members of the social network and which are authorized to be purchased by other members of the social network on behalf of the member requesting the product. The present invention provides for automatically notifying a member of the social network that they are currently located at physical location, such as a retail store or the like, that currently has available one or more of the products on the wish list. The notifications may take the form of alerts communicated on the member's mobile communication device. Automatic notification occurs via a mobile communication device that is capable of identifying current location, determining that the current location has products available, and determine that one or more of the products currently available at the location are currently listed on the wish list.

Abstract: This is directed to providing offline purchasing of media items using an electronic device. One or more media items that are not part of a user's media library can be stored on an electronic device. When a user later wishes to play back one of the media items, but the device cannot connect to a communications network to provide payment information for purchasing the media items, the electronic device can use pre-paid credits that were purchased and stored by the device when a communications network was available to complete the purchase. By using pre-paid credits, the media store can be assured that the user has sufficient funds for the media item purchase.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and corresponding systems for facilitating a live registry event between a shopper and one or more remote viewers. In the live registry event, the shopper, registers for gifts that they would like to receive while sharing their registering experience with the viewers in real-time. When the user registers for an item, a server system allows the viewers to purchase the gift for the shopper.

Abstract: Location-aware preference and restriction based customized menu may be generated, for example, by obtaining a list of preferences and restrictions, tracking a dietary intake, determining a list of foods available at current location, and generating a list of recommended foods from the current location based on the list of preferences and restrictions, and the tracked dietary intake.

Abstract: An example carwash method involves a customer using a smartphone with an app for finding participating carwash locations, making online payments for select carwash options, and then using the smartphone app to start the washing process when the customer arrives at the carwash. Various means can be used for determining when the vehicle is at the carwash entrance. Examples of such means include, but are not limited to, reading the GPS coordinates of the smartphone in the vehicle; establishing Bluetooth, WiFi or some other limited-range wireless communication link between the smartphone and the local carwash controller; displaying and manually entering a code or password at the carwash; and scanning a QR code displayed on the smartphone. During the carwash operation, in some examples, the smartphone app provides the customer with an emergency stop option.

Abstract: Networked product containers such as vending machines identify the presence of a potential customer via sensors, and present customized interactive marketing content to consumers. Consumers interact with a touch screen to win prizes, make purchases, or have a fun and interactive experience. The prizes and purchases offered by the product container may be determined by the product container or by one or more content servers in communication with the container. The content server may also provide digital content for display on the product container and remotely update the product container's content. The networked product container also includes a wireless access point to provide nearby wireless-enabled devices network connectivity via the product container.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods for creating, distributing and playing illumination data files. The illumination data files, created using luminaire development systems are uploaded to a luminaire management system, where they are further processed and packaged for sale or license within a luminaire marketplace. Consumers and enterprises using luminaires may establish accounts with the luminaire management system and marketplace to access illumination data files for playback on individual or multiple luminaires. Consumers and enterprises may also create play lists and uniquely configure the luminaires to display various lighting effects based on user preferences, environmental factors or energy efficient settings.

Abstract: A map display apparatus and method for a navigation changes a map scale dynamically to help the driver visualize the environment of the destination when the vehicle is approaching the destination. The map scale is changed dynamically to display the destination along with at least one map attribute near the destination to provide more information to the driver. The navigation system includes, among others, a searching unit and a scale changing unit to change the map scale to display the destination along with at least one map attribute when the vehicle is approaching the destination. The navigation system also includes a priority table to prioritize the map attributes and the searching unit searches the map attributes near the destination according to order in the priority table.

Abstract: A limited-use browser and related security system control access to content stored on a server computer linked to a network. The security system secures the content on the server and only permits it to be downloaded to a client computer running the limited-use browser or a general purpose browser executing an add-in security module providing the same functions as the limited-user browser. The limited-use browser or module secures the downloaded content on the client computer and displays it in a “view-only” mode. While the secured content is being displayed, menu selections, key combination, or pointing device commands initiated on the client computer that would modify the content or create a copy of another medium are either disabled as a default or monitored to determine if the action is permitted.

Abstract: A system and method for providing ready access to information about a vehicle offered for sale. A linking element is physically located on the vehicle. The linking element can assume many forms, with one example being a printed QR code on a “buyers guide” sticker or a separate sticker. A prospective purchaser uses a smart phone or other portable device to retrieve information based on the linking element. The smart phone then transmits this information over a communication link to a database containing information on many vehicles. The smart phone then receives the information back from the database on the specific vehicle queried where it may be reviewed by the user.

In an embodiment of the invention, a computer implemented method for demand amalgamation in an online auction can be provided. The method can include, in a single online auction provided by an online auction management system executing in at least one host server, the acceptance of bids for associated different items in the online auction management system. At least two of the different items can be of a different item type. The method further can include the determination of winning bids amongst the accepted bids by way of a comparison of the accepted bids to one another without regard to whether or not the accepted bids had been placed for an item of a specific item type.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes providing an online marketplace to developers of web applications that may be downloaded from the marketplace to a client computing device for execution by a browser executing on the client device and receiving a request from a party to the marketplace to list a proposed web application for sale in the marketplace. One or more processors of a computer system automatically determine the permissions requested by the proposed web application and automatically determine if the permissions match one or more predetermined permissions. If the permissions match one or more predetermined permissions, then the proposed application is flagged for a manual vetting process before listing the proposed application in the marketplace, and if they do not match, then the proposed application is listed in the marketplace without manual review of the application.

Abstract: A system and method for determination and presentation of package offers. A package offer is an offer for sale by a retailer of a package of products at a package price. A retailer may offer products for sale in an on-line retail environment or in a physical retail environment. A determination is made that a primary product is of interest to a customer. This determination may involve detecting and interpreting input signals transmitted from a customer device. In response to detecting that the primary product is of interest to the customer, a package is determined that may comprise the primary product and at least one secondary product. A package may be determined by accessing a database to locate a pre-determined package or to select the secondary products ad hoc. A package price is determined that is less than the sum of the corresponding retail prices of the primary product and secondary products in the package.

Abstract: A system receives item data corresponding to an item list from a user. The item list may include one or more items. The system communicates the item list to a community group associated with the user and the system then receives member data from one or more members of the community group, wherein the member data is associated with the one or more items on the item list.
