  • Patent number: 6506042
Abstract: A rounder bar assembly (10) with floating foot (56) for use with an endless belt conveyor (12) incorporates an elongated body (20) configured for shaping dough pieces (14) transported along the endless belt of a conveyor. A backing plate (22) and a spacer (24) are disposed between the body (20) and the backing plate, with the body (20), backing plate (22) and spacer (24) defining cavity (26) therebetween. An elongated flexible foot (56) is movably mounted within the cavity (26) so that a portion of the foot (56) extends from the cavity when the foot is in a compressed position. A visco-elastic material (63) is disposed within the cavity (26) between the spacer (24) and the foot (56) such that the visco-elastic material is responsive to movement of the foot, thereby allowing the foot to conform to the belt of the conveyor. The visco-elastic material has a property of expanding volumetrically in response to a force applied thereto that displaces some of the volume of the material.

  • Patent number: 6506041
Abstract: Disclosed is a perogie maker for producing individual perogies from a single layer of dough. The perogie maker consists of round, hollow cylinders attached to one another at the ends of the cylinders by rotatable hinges. The cylinders have alternating raised and lowered notches, and a ridge surrounding the outside of at least part of the cylinder which is capable of cutting through dough. When handles attached to the cylinders are brought together the raised notches close on lowered notches and a layer of dough is folded as such to produce sealed perogies, with excess dough being trimmed by the ridge.

  • Patent number: 6506329
Abstract: The present invention provides a stable material having enhanced extensibility and a method for making the same. A neckable material is fed in a first direction. The neckable material is subjected to incremental stretching in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. A tensioning force is applied to the neckable material to neck the material in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The necked material is then subjected to mechanical stabilization to provide a stabilized extensible necked material. The stabilized extensible necked material is then passed between the peripheral surface of a cylinder which is driven in rotating motion and a device for pressing the stabilized extensible necked material against the peripheral surface of the cylinder. A retarding member retards the passage of the stabilized extensible necked material and directs the material away from the peripheral surface of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6503430
Abstract: An injection molding system for molding a hollow plastic article employs a hollow mold core having a longitudinal axis and a core runner cavity that has a uniform cross section throughout and which extends to the open end of the mold core. The mold core includes at least one core ejection gate and at least one core inlet gate leading from the outer surface of the core wall to the core runner cavity. When molding is performed in stages, there is it least one core ejection gate for each stage of molding. The core is clamped in between separate sets of molding blocks for each stage of molding. A core end closure cap having a core extension cavity aligned with the core runner cavity is used to close the open end of the mold core. A molten plastic is injected into the outer molding blocks and is confined to travel through the core inlet gate of the core without entering the mold cavity directly so that the molten plastic is forced to pass through the core runner cavity in order to reach the core ejection gates.

  • Patent number: 6503428
Abstract: A process for manufacturing floor and wall coverings that produces a product a user may adhere to any wall or floor surface. The process begins by blending selected volumes of epoxy and aggregate into a vessel. A selected portion of the blended mixture is poured into a mold of selected geometry. A first piece of interlocking screening material is positioned over the first selected portion of the blended mixture. A second selected portion of the blended mixture is poured over the first interlocking screening material. A second piece of interlocking screening material is positioned over the second selected portion of the blended mixture. A selected portion of an adhering material is embedded into the top surface of the second interlocking screening material and the second selected portion of the blended molded mixture. • Patent number: 6503437
Abstract: A method for embossing a cylindrical object such as a paint roller cover, especially using an apparatus that includes a shuttle and a rotatable shaft on the shuttle. The rotatable shaft includes two ends, with one end accepting a paint roller cover and with the other end being toothed for engagement with a gear rack. As the rotatable shaft is drawn in one direction by the shuttle, the toothed end engages the gear rack and rotates the rotatable shaft, thereby also rotating the paint roller cover. As the paint roller cover rotates, it is drawn by the shuttle over a die transfer plate having a design formed therein, and such design is transferred to the paint roller cover. The die transfer plate is heated to the desired temperature, and the speed of the shuttle is controllable so that time and temperature is controlled. Another controlled parameter is pressure.

  • Patent number: 6499715
Abstract: A resin mold has a surface layer formed on the molding surface of a main body from a thermosetting resin and containing fine particles of silicon carbide. The surface layer can be formed simply by thermosetting the resin without calling for any plating, so that the mold can be made in a short time. The high hardness of silicon carbide gives a high wear resistance to the surface layer. The main body is formed from a thermosetting resin and contains metal particles.
