Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.

Abstract: A method may include receiving a search phrase including a first word. In response to receiving the search phrase, a database may be queried to retrieve an item description matching the search phrase. The first item description may match the search phrase by including a second word that matches the first word in the search phrase. A semantic role for the first word included in the search phrase may be determined based on a semantic role of the second word included in the item description. An analytics result associated with the search phrase may be generated based on the semantic role of first word included in the search phrase. Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining a record generation estimate related to a particular processing task. The system obtains a sample set of data that includes multiple records. The system applies a processing task, such as a transform or regular expression rule to the sample set of data and determines how many records are generated by the processing task. Based on the number of records generated, the system determines a record generation estimate. The system can use the record generation estimate to allocate compute resources or determine a query execution time for at least a portion of the query based on the record generation estimate.

Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting and presenting web resources (e.g. videos) are provided, the method includes: transmitting a first video to be played by a device associated with a user account; and during playback of the first video at the device: detecting an update to configuration data associated with the user account; determining, based on the update to the configuration data associated with the user account, a next video recommendation for the user account; and causing an indication of the next video recommendation to be displayed on the device.

Abstract: Methods and systems described herein can provide a computing device configured to display on a display screen of the computing device a first window listing a set of entries and a second window that can add entries directly into the set of entries and that can search for entries having selected features. The second window can dynamically display one or more keywords related to an entry as the entry is being created. The keywords can be determined as the entry is created and can be associated with the entry as the entry is added to the set of entries. The second window can receive a search request with the keywords and in response, cause the entries associated with the keywords to be displayed in the first window.

Abstract: Technologies for predictive caching include a computing device to receive sensor data generated by one or more sensors of the computing device and determine a device context of the computing device based on the sensor data. Based on the device context, the computing device determines a file to cache that has similar characteristics to another file recently accessed by a user of the computing device. The computing device includes a file cache with a first partition to store files identified to have similar characteristics to files recently accessed by a user and a second partition to store files identified based on access patterns of the user. The computing device stores the determined file to the first partition.

Abstract: A storage system and method for host-assisted memory block color coding for faster media search are provided. In one embodiment, a controller of the storage system is configured to receive an image and color properties of the image from a host and store the image in an area of memory associated with the color properties. Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure provide an information processing method and related product, the method includes: receiving a search request containing a keyword; searching in a preset application library to obtain a search result set according to the keyword, wherein the search result set comprises N applications; obtaining M applications from the N applications, wherein the M applications each comprises at least one APP ID related information and thereby the M applications comprise Q APP ID related information; updating the search result set according to the Q APP ID related information; and sending the search result set. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a simplified catalog search query from a set of catalog access rules applicable to catalog user groups associated with a catalog user. For example, accessible sources are identified from the access rules. The accessible sources do not include sources that would lead to contradictory and/or useless search query phrases. Based on the accessible sources and the set of catalog access rules, a simplified search query is generated and run against a database of catalog items.

Abstract: A method and system for prioritizing critical data object storage during backup operations. Specifically, the method and system disclosed herein entail reordering data objects, awaiting being written to storage and thus queued in one or more data object queues, in accordance with a nearest-critical based sequential order. The nearest-critical based sequential order may be derived through modified weight-based Euclidean distances calculated between adjacent data object pairs queued in any given data object queue. Further, the calculated modified weight-based Euclidean distances incorporate data criticality factors associated with the adjacent data object pairs. By reordering data objects in a nearest-critical based sequential order, critical data objects may be written into storage first, thereby avoiding possible critical data loss should a disaster occur during backup operations.

Abstract: A method for managing garbage collection in a memory subsystem, where a stream data manager writes data units from a stream of data into an allocated portion of memory composed of a plurality of blocks. The stream data manager evaluates a behavior of the stream of data to calculate the stream's efficiency, where the efficiency value is calculated based on an amount of invalid data units stored in the allocated portion of memory. The stream data manager determines a threshold of valid data units in a block within the allocated portion of memory, applicable to each block in the plurality of blocks for determining when to perform garbage collection. The stream data manager performs the garbage collection of a first block of the plurality of blocks in response to determining that a value of valid data units in the first block is within a predetermined range of the threshold value.

Abstract: A control center includes a display screen for displaying different social media and social media analytics. The control center includes an enhanced notification device that operates independently and remotely from the display screen. A media controller receives a selection of a search term, selection of an analytic, and selection of a trigger event for the analytic. The control center obtains social media from different networks containing the search term and generates the selected analytic from the social media. The media controller activates the enhanced notification device when the trigger event is detected in the analytic. The activated notification device provides a different environmental attribute than the display screen that is more effective in gaining the attention of the control center operators.

Abstract: Computer systems and methods are provided for processing audio queries. An electronic device receives an audio clip and performs a matching process on the audio clip. The matching process includes comparing at least a portion of the audio clip to a plurality of reference audio tracks and identifying, based on the comparing, a first portion of a particular reference track that corresponds to the audio sample. Upon identifying the matching portion, the electronic device provides a backing track for playback which corresponds to the particular reference track, and an initial playback position of the backing track.
