Abstract: A hybrid recommendation system uses offline testing and online testing to generate and optimize recommendation functions. The functions generate recommendations which may be presented online for product purchases. Indices are created from the recommendations. Lookups may be performed on the indices to select recommendations for a particular user. The selected recommendations may be filtered before presenting to the user.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to allowing a recipient of a closed-loop gift card to select one of a number of merchants toward which to apply the value. A consumer buys a variable gift card from a service provider for a set amount, pays the service provider that amount, and the service provider holds that amount in escrow. The consumer sends the gift card to a recipient with a predetermined merchant. The recipient receives the gift card and decides to switch the gift card from the predetermined merchant to a desired merchant. The recipient requests the service provider to change the merchant, and the service provider delivers the amount from escrow to the desired merchant. If the recipient does desire to use the predetermined merchant, the recipient contacts the service provider for activation and the service provider transfers the amount to the predetermined merchant.

Abstract: Various embodiments enable a customer to quickly search additional information (e.g., product variations, sizes, price and availability) related to a specific product. For example, the customer can request additional information of a specific product by submitting an image of the specific product from a computing device. In one embodiment, location of the customer can be determined based on the image submitted by the customer. Product features can be extracted from the image according to various imaging processing and text recognition algorithms and then used to match products that are within view of the customer. A search results with additional information of the specific product can be provided to the computing device for presentation to the customer.

The collected data includes information about a first product, and the information about the first product is stored as product research data. The product research data is associated with the consumer. It is detected that the consumer is accessing a location in a second electronic commerce website that includes information about a second product. The product research data is searched for data related to the information about the second product. The information about the first product is located in response to searching the product research data for data related to the information about the second product, and the consumer is presented with the information about the first product along with the information about the second product.

Abstract: A consumer user can perform a number of augmented reality shopping operations using a local client shopping application executable on a mobile device. Features related to implementations of the current subject matter can include, but are not limited to, the ability to view an augmented reality depiction of a shopping display using the mobile device and to execute various “e-commerce” functions accessible via the augmented reality depiction. Visual image processing based on one or more inputs from sensors on the mobile device can be used to compute and efficiently provide the two dimensional projection of the three dimensional model to be presented on the screen of the mobile device. Plural classified listings are accepted and displayed by the social media ecosystem in plural different categories for plural different geographic locations. Social index values and social commerce connections for plural user who posted the plural classified listings are created or updated when a classified listing is viewed or a purchase is made for a good or service listed in plural classified listings. Public access is provided to the plural classified listings via plural public search engines and plural social media sites. However, communication with a user who posted a classified listing is private and to communicate a viewer of a classified listing is required to enter information to log into a private system.
