Abstract: System and method for risk assessment of compliance are disclosed. A database is provided, which contains mapped compliance data components related to regulations, requirements, policies and standards, controls, and assets. Users can specify the weighting of the data components based on the user's business requirements. Manual and automated assessments are used to measure and determine the state of compliance of assets, such as people, processes, and technology. In particular, assessments may be performed on the standards and controls related to people, processes, and technology. Various compliance and risk indices are computed based on the compliance status of the standards and controls. Reports and analysis using the compliance data components and the compliance and risk indices are provided to quantify compliance risks and to assess overall compliance.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and method for order processing state management are described. Embodiments may include an order handling system that includes multiple processing components for performing a respective portion of an order fulfillment process for purchase orders. The order handling system may also include a data store for storing state information of the purchase orders. To process a given purchase order, the order handling system may utilize each processing component to complete a respective portion of the order fulfillment process for that purchase order. The order handling system may also utilize each component to, based on the respective task performed, update state information corresponding to the aforesaid purchase order in the data store. The order handling system may, subsequent to an interruption of the processing of the purchase order, resume the processing of the purchase order based on the updated state information.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium for maintaining a project schedule of projects being executed within a software factory are presented. A project management tool receives alerts from the software factory as completion statuses, of software packets being used within the software factory, change. These alerts enable a consolidated and coordinated updating of the project schedule.

Abstract: A pension insurance plan method involves administering claims made against a pension debt coverage policy provided in the plan. The policy protects an outstanding balance of a defined contribution plan loan secured by participant's plan assets, eliminating adverse tax consequences to the plan beneficiary in the event of the death or disability of the participant and ensuring that the full plan account balance passes intact to beneficiary in such event.

Abstract: The software of the present invention provides a means for creating a file of unpaid claims for a service provider. The software is used to create one or more queries to compare information in the file of claims against records in a benefit provider's database to determine the eligibility status of the claim. A file is created containing each claim for which a matching record in the benefit provider's database is found, and the information from that matching record. A report can be generated from the file of matching claims and benefit provider records, so the claims can be submitted for payment by the service provider.

Abstract: A Pattern System Environment is formed. The Pattern System Environment is a representation of information technology (IT) resources of a customer's business environment. The Pattern System Environment is based on information associated with the IT resources of the customer, and that information indicates how the IT resources are utilized during a business cycle of the customer. Pattern System Environments are usable in many environments, including those that support business resiliency.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically determining substitution chains that are valid during a rules-based ATP check for an order item. In one implementation, a system is provided that includes an interface for interfacing with a plurality of data storage devices in at least one of which a plurality of stock items are stored as data. The system also includes an execution memory storing software and a buffer for temporarily storing data. A processor coupled to the interface and the execution memory may carry out an availability check in which a replacement chain describing replacements is stored in the buffer. The replacement chain may be determined by one or more of rules defining substitutions.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for providing the ability for retailers to devise a current channel strategy (e.g., adaptive price setting) that considers competitors in a dynamic competing environment, and that enables computing a competitive advantage of a channel. To estimate a price for selling a product j in a commerce channel comprises: a) receiving, at a processor device, real market data including sales and price history data of a product j sold by one or more retailers over one or alternate sales channels t; generating, by the processor device, a competitive advantage parameter value based on the sales and price history data; and, computing, utilizing the competitive advantage parameter value, an optimum price for a particular product to be marketed in one of the one or alternate sales channel.

Abstract: A method of generating a quantitative indicator of sales for a market segment for a predetermined time period is disclosed. The market segment represents a plurality of members with one or more products. The method includes receiving sales data from the plurality of members of the market segment, calculating the quantitative indicator for each member of the market segment, calculating the quantitative indicator for the market segment by creating a composite of the quantitative indicator for each member representing the market segment, and either calculating the quantitative indicator for the member with missing data using a estimated value of units of the product sold by the member or modifying the baseline benchmark by removing the data of the member with missing data.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for determining discounts that optimize revenue for customers or customer subsets. Transaction records that are associated with a customer and a merchant are obtained. Each transaction record identifies a corresponding purchase of a quantity of one of multiple items by the customer from the merchant at a corresponding unit purchase price. A normalized unit purchase price is generated for each transaction record by normalizing the respective unit purchase price relative to a respective unit retail price at the time of purchase. A demand curve is generated for the customer for the items based at least in part on the transaction records and the normalized unit purchase prices. The demand curve identifies a quantity of units that the customer is predicted to purchase at a range of normalized unit purchase prices.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to manage resources in a cloud-based computing system by generating a model of a relationship between cloud database resources and an expected profit based on cloud-server system parameters and service level agreements (SLAs) that indicates profits for different system performances, wherein the model comprises a two level optimization/control problem, wherein model receives system metrics, number of replicas, and arrival rate as the multiple input; and dynamically adjusting resource allocation among different customers based on current customer workload and the expected profit to maximize the expected profit for a cloud computing service provider.

In one embodiment, a method for allocating jobs to an agent includes defining, for each job of the jobs, a job type associated with at least one job and at least one sub-step associated with the at least one job, determining eligibility to perform the at least one sub-step by an agent of agents, determining a number of jobs of each job type to be performed by the agent based on the eligibility determination, and automatically generating agent-specific job queues based on the number of jobs.

Abstract: In a medical system architecture and a message exchange method at least one modality is provided to acquire examination images, computer workstations are associated with the respective modalities to process the examination images, a device is provided to transfer data, the examination images, and messages between client applications and server applications, and a storage device is processed for the data and examination images, and further computer workstations are provided for post-processing of the data and examination images. A proxy server is associated with the data transfer device that effects a conversion of the messages between client applications and server applications according to established transformation rules. The contents of those messages are manipulated in the transfer thereof according to the aforementioned transformation rules, by a conversion routine.

Abstract: A system and method for determining eligibility for reimbursement for medical claims for patients may be implemented with computer software which compares a service provider's patient information against a benefit provider's database of covered persons to determine if the patient is eligible for benefits. The service provider records may be compressed by grouping all of the medical claims relating to a particular patient into one cluster represented by a composite medical claim, which may be used to query the benefit provider databases to determine if the patient is recognized. If the patient is recognized, every record within the cluster may be checked against the benefit provider's database to determine whether one or more patient medical claims are eligible for reimbursement.

Abstract: A medical form is marked by a clinician during a patient/clinician encounter to generate a record with information related to a current complaint. The form is partitioned into several regions related to patient history, examination and medical decision, respectively. The form is automatically analyzed and using the locations of the marks on the form and a predetermined set of rules, a billing code is generated. The billing code determines the fee to be paid to the clinician or health provider.

Abstract: A product assortment planning system determines scaled performance metric values for an assortment of products. The system includes a data store storing performance metric values for an assortment of products including a target assortment of products and a source assortment of products, an equivalization unit and a scaling unit. The equivalization unit equivalizes the performance metric values for the source assortment of products. The scaling unit determines incrementality assumptions. The incrementality assumptions are an estimation of an amount of cannibalization that occurs for the target assortment of products as a result of combining the source assortment of products with the target assortment of products. Scaled performance metric values are calculated for each product in the assortment of products based on the equivalized performance metric values and the incrementality assumptions.

Abstract: A pricing optimization system can solve a constrained optimization problem by generating one or more prices for one or more items that satisfy a maximum number of prioritized constraints. The one or more generated prices can be one or more prices that represent a minimal deviation between the generated one or more prices and one or more original prices for the one or more items. By satisfying a maximum number of prioritized constraints, and by minimizing a deviation from the one or more original prices for the one or more items, the generated one or more prices are one or more optimal prices.
