Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for enabling sub-seconds link failure detection in a multi-chassis link aggregation group (MC-LAG) system are described. A first network device of a packet network transmits an IP packet over a first link that is part of the MC-LAG, where the MC-LAG couples the first network device with a second network device and a third network device and the second and third network devices are part of an Inter-Chassis Redundancy (ICR) system. The IP packet includes a payload including a Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) control packet, where the destination address of the IP packet is one of a multicast IP address and a broadcast IP address.

  • Patent number: 10771176
Abstract: A communication system includes a repetitive orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (“ROFDM”) transmitter communicating with an ROFDM receiver. The ROFDM transmitter includes an ROFDM modulator, which includes a K-point Fast Fourier Transform receiving a block of time-domain data symbols and generating an initial orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol. The initial orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol is based on a block of frequency-domain data symbols corresponding to the block of time-domain data symbols. The initial orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol includes an ending part. The ROFDM modulator includes an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol repeater generating a repetitive orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol by repeatedly reproducing the initial orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol.

  • Patent number: 10764430
Abstract: A voice or video call is to be established between a caller and a callee based on a call flow that involves a call establishment request and a corresponding call acceptance response. A first call establishment request is sent to a called terminal (of the callee) that is unready to accept the call upon receiving this first call establishment request. Once the called terminal is ready to accept the call, instead of the call acceptance response, a reverse call establishment request for the call is received back from the called terminal. The reverse call establishment request is automatically accepted on behalf of the caller on condition that the reverse call establishment request was received back from the called terminal within a certain time limit. If so, the call is accepted by sending an instance of the call acceptance response to called terminal.

  • Patent number: 10757200
Abstract: Systems and methods for a conferencing system. Responsive to a new conference request received at a conference orchestration service, participants of the conference and participant regions for each determined participant are determined. A mixer topology is generated that specifies an assignment of each determined participant to at least one input channel of a plurality of mixers. A mixer state manager generates the mixer topology based on the determined participant regions and at least one regional association of a mixer. Media of each determined participant is routed to the assigned at least one input channel according to the generated mixer topology by using the conference orchestration service. The mixer state manager generates the topology responsive to a request provided by the conference state manager. The conference orchestration service receives the generated mixer topology from the mixer state manager via the conference state manager.

  • Patent number: 10757149
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide usage authorization control for group communications. In one embodiment, a network element identifies a group communication for an end user of User Equipment (UE), and identifies a group ID for the group communication. The network element retrieves a user profile of the end user from a Home Subscriber Server (HSS), and determines from the user profile and the group ID whether the end user is a member of the group. The network element provides, on the condition that the end user is a member of the group, the group ID to the HSS and receives group usage rules for the group from the HSS. The network element allows the group communication on the condition that the group communication is permitted by one or more of the group usage rules.

  • Patent number: 10707955
Abstract: A method performed by an intermediate unit of a distributed base station system of a wireless communication network. The distributed base station system has a first base unit and a second base unit connected to the intermediate unit. The intermediate unit is further connected to a first remote unit, which is further connected for distributing wireless signals to pieces of User Equipment (UEs). The intermediate unit receives, from the first base unit, first data and sends the first data over a point-to-point connection to the first remote unit for further distribution wirelessly over a radio channel to the UEs. In response to the reception of the first data, a first indication is sent to the second base unit that the radio channel is free. The second base unit can send second data that is then to be sent from the remote unit towards the UEs on the radio channel.

  • Patent number: 10701650
Abstract: A multi-point transmission system comprising a plurality of slave nodes (300) for transmitting data to a wireless receiver is described herein. An outer feedback loop and a plurality of inner feedback loops (100) connecting the plurality of slave nodes (300) to a master node (200) controls the timing skew of each slave node (300) using measurements provided by the slave nodes (300) to substantially synchronize the receipt of the transmitted data at the wireless receiver. In so doing, the solution presented herein provides improved multi-point control for any number of transmission points, which improves capacity, and solves the potential flow control problems associated with ultra-lean transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10693784
Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) link aggregation groups (LAGs) between a server and a data center switch in a data center. The techniques enable an access switch in the data center switch to assign class identifiers to each member link in an FCoE LAG between an FCoE node (Enode) of the server and the access switch. In this way, the access switch is able to redirect FCoE traffic from a Fibre Channel forwarder (FCF) of a storage area network (SAN) toward the Enode on the correct member link of the FCoE LAG. The techniques also enable scaling of FCoE initialization protocol (FIP) and FCoE sessions by installing FIP snooping filters that use on a source media access control (MAC) address hit determination in ingress filter processors (IFPs) of the access switch to avoid session limitations of virtual local area network (VLAN) filter processors (VFPs).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to adaptive modulation and coding scheme selection and signaling in a communication system. In particular, a modulation and coding scheme to be used for transmission of a data is selected from a set of predetermined modulation and coding schemes. The predetermination of the set is performed by selecting the set from a plurality of predefined sets. The sets have the same size, so that a modulation and coding selection indicator signaled to select the modulation and coding scheme may be advantageously applied to any of the selected sets. Moreover, a second set includes schemes with a modulation not covered by the schemes of a first set, and which is of a higher order than any modulation in the first set.
