Abstract: Functionality is disclosed for providing and displaying an indication as to a position within a message that is currently being displayed within a message conversation that includes multiple messages. A personal information management (PIM) client application or another type of messaging application receives the messages in the conversation. The conversation is parsed, by either the PIM client application or a PIM server application that forwarded the messages in the conversation to the PIM client application, in order to determine sizes and beginnings of the multiple messages. As a message is displayed within the conversation, a message position indicator is displayed that indicates the position within the message relative to the size of the message. The position represents the portion of the message that is currently being displayed. The message position indicator resets when the beginning of a new message is displayed.

Abstract: System, method, and computer program product embodiments describe utilizing a page having a flexible layout for accessing content across multiple applications. In an embodiment, a display device displays a first content on a page associated with a set of layouts. The page uses a one-panel layout having one panel that that encompasses the first content. Responsive to detecting a selection of a portion of the first content within the one-panel layout, the display device receives a second content for displaying within the page. Then, the display devices renders the page using a two-panel layout having a first panel that is vertically adjacent to a second panel to display the first and second content alongside each other. The first and second panels respectively display the first and second content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for transitioning a display of a document from a first layout to a second layout. A processor at a user interface displays the document in the first layout. The processor receives a first user input indicative of a request to convert the display from the first layout to the second layout that represents the document as having a plurality of portions. The processor identifies a suggested boundary at a first position between two of the plurality of portions, displays the document in the second layout having the suggested boundary at the first position, and receives a second user input indicative of a request to move the suggested boundary to a second position different from the first position. The document is displayed in the second layout having the boundary in the second position.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for printing an input electronic document that contains one or more hyperlinks. According to the disclosed method, the input electronic document is received for printing. Then, one or more hyperlinks are detected and corresponding hyperlink destinations are extracted. Thereafter, one or more reference pages are added at an end of the input electronic document to create a final document for printing, the one or more reference pages list the extracted hyperlinks and corresponding hyperlink destinations. The final document is submitted to a printer for printing.

Abstract: A cursor in a viewable portion of a webpage, or pan region, visually encounters a friction field when the cursor enters a margin of the viewable portion. As a user moves the cursor into the margin of the viewable portion, the movement of the displayed position of the cursor is limited as if the cursor is being restricted by a friction field in the margin. Also, as the cursor enters the margin of the viewable portion of the webpage, the webpage scrolls in the opposite direction of movement of the cursor. The amount of scroll of the webpage is proportional to a distance the cursor is away from an inner edge of the margin. When a user no longer attempts to move the cursor in the margin, the cursor fluidly drifts back toward a center of the viewable portion and so that scrolling of the webpage pauses.

Abstract: A digital magazine application executing on a client device presents a digital magazine to a user including content items retrieved from one or more sources based on information associated with the user. When presenting the digital magazine, a cover is presented including an image and one or more headlines describing one or more content items included in the digital magazine. The cover may be generated by clustering content items included in the digital magazine and ranking content items in various clusters based on their characteristics. Based on the rankings, information describing content items from various clusters is included on the cover. Alternatively, the cover includes information describing content items identified based on the order in which the content items are presented by the digital magazine.

Abstract: In accordance with an exemplary embodiment a web-based content aggregation and discovery facility, comprises a plurality of content aggregations managed by the content aggregation and discovery facility, wherein each of the plurality of content aggregations is generated by a user and is comprised of a plurality of web-linked content elements selected by the user, where the plurality of visual web-linked content of a web-based content aggregation is directed to a topical subject and a plurality of user content databases with at least one content database associated with each user for storing content information associated with the web-linked content elements of the content aggregations generated by each user, the content information comprising a URL and an image selection, wherein the image selection is an image selected from images provided at a URL linked web location.

Abstract: A page restoring method includes when starting, detecting whether a predetermined file is empty. The predetermined file is configured to store a Uniform/Universal Resource Locator (URL) accessed before a browser exits abnormally. When detecting that the predetermined file is not empty, take a page corresponding to the URL in the predetermined file as a displaying page.

Abstract: Provided are a method of converting a document and a system for performing the method. The method includes loading a document file about an original document generated to have a plurality of pages, extracting content information about content of the original document and layout information about a page layout of the original document, generating a content layer composed of a single sheet including content corresponding to the content of the original document, inserting an intermediate blank space into a separating position corresponding to a page boundary of the original document on the single sheet of the content layer, generating a frame layer composed of a single sheet including as many page frames, and generating a converted document composed of a single sheet in which the content layer and the frame layer overlap and visually providing a page separation substantially the same as a page separation of the original document.

Abstract: In various implementations, a first computing device (such as a cloud-based server) receives, from a second computing device (e.g., a notebook computer, tablet computer, or smartphone): (a) a graphical annotation for a document displayed on the second computing device, and (b) a comment for the graphical annotation. The first computing device stores the graphical annotation in a database in a graphical annotation data entity, stores the comment in the database in a comment data entity, and associates the graphical annotation data entity with the comment data entity within the database.
