  • Patent number: 10178653
Abstract: A wireless communication network aggregates wireless network control signaling through a hub User Equipment (UE) using Carrier Aggregation (CA). The wireless access node selects the hub UE and directs the hub UE to aggregate the wireless network control signaling for other UEs by using CA traffic channels with the wireless access node. The hub UE exchanges the wireless network control signaling with the other UEs over wireless links. The hub UE aggregates the wireless network control signaling. The hub UE and the wireless access node exchange the aggregated wireless network control signaling over the CA traffic channels.

  • Patent number: 10178024
Abstract: An example method is provided for a first edge device to perform traffic forwarding in a network with geographically dispersed first site and second site. The method may comprise reconfiguring, for a workload migrated from the second site to the first site, the first edge device located at the first site as a default gateway of the workload from the second edge device located at the second site by causing the workload to learn an association between a default gateway Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with the second edge device to a Media Access Control (MAC) address associated with the first edge device. The method may further comprise receiving, from the workload, traffic for forwarding to a destination, and in response to determination that the destination is not within the second site, forwarding the received traffic to the destination without using the second edge device.

  • Patent number: 10172177
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses are described for wireless communications in which a wireless device may identify a small cell (e.g., SCell) and establish an independent connection with the small cell based at least in part on selection parameters received from a macro cell (e.g., PCell). The selection parameters may include power and/or quality parameters, as wells as a set of candidate cells from which to make the selection. The macro and small cells may be in communication with each other but need not be associated with the same base station (i.e., are not collocated). Once the small cell connection is established, the device may communicate with both cells concurrently. Available uplink data and/or downlink data may trigger the need for the device to connect with the small cell. For example, the small cell connection may be used to communicate uplink/downlink data associated with certain quality-of-service (QoS) and/or bearer identifier.

  • Patent number: 9986568
Abstract: A mobile communications network includes one or more network elements providing a wireless access interface for communications devices. The wireless access interface provides plural communications resource elements across a host frequency range of a host carrier. First and second sections of communications resources within respective first and second frequency ranges for preferable allocation to reduced capability devices form respective first and second virtual carriers. Each of the first and second frequency ranges is within the host frequency range, wherein the communications device is configured with a reduced capability to receive the signals only within a frequency bandwidth less than the host frequency range and equal to at least one of the first or second frequency range. The communications device is configured to receive the first signalling data from the control channel and the common system information from the one or more communications resources identified by the first signalling data.

  • Patent number: 9967184
Abstract: A method implemented by a network device acting as a border gateway protocol (BGP) speaker, of exposing a maximum segment identifier depth (MSD) value of the network device is described. The method comprises encoding the MSD value into a BGP Link State (BGP-LS) extension message. The BGP-LS extension message includes a type, a length and a MSD value. The type indicates the type of the MSD value, the length indicates the length of the MSD value and the MSD value indicates a lowest MSD value supported by the network device for enabling segment routing. The method continues with transmitting the BGP-LS extension message including the type, the length, and the MSD value to a network controller, where the network controller is to use the MSD value to compute a segment routing path including the network device.

  • Patent number: 9949281
Abstract: A method and a radio node (110) for managing resources for D2D discovery in an ad-hoc radio communication munication network (100). The radio node (110) receives beacon signals from a number of further radio nodes (120, 130, 140). A respective beacon signal includes values indicating power received at the respective further radio node (120, 130, 140) for each resource of the amount of resources. The radio node (110) calculates, for each respective further radio node (120, 130, 140), values of SINR based on the values indicating power received at the respective further radio node (120, 130, 140). The radio node (110) selects at least one resource out of the amount of resources to increase number of discovering further radio nodes (120, 30, 140) and/or to increase average SINRover the further radio nodes (120, 130, 40). The radio node (110) broadcasts a further beacon signal on the selected at least one resource.
