  • Patent number: 10833796
Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for competition-based transmitting of uplink data in a wireless communication system to which a non-orthogonal multiple access scheme is applied. Particularly, a terminal receives, from a base station, information relating to a predefined modulation pattern for non-orthogonal multiple access. The information relating to the predefined modulation pattern includes a modulation pattern index. The modulation pattern index indicates designation of a terminal-specific modulation order for each resource element in a resource used overlappingly by multiple terminals. The terminal transmits data to the base station using the modulation order designated to each of the resource elements on the basis of the information relating to the predetermined modulation pattern.

  • Patent number: 10812203
Abstract: In a Long-Term Evolution Licensed Assisted Access (LTE-LAA) environment, Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements may be taken by a User Equipment (UE) outside of transmission bursts of cells in the LTE-LAA environment. For example, a serving cell may indicate transmission burst timing, of the serving cell, via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling. Non-serving cells may align transmission burst timing with the outputting of a Discovery Reference Signal (DRS). The serving cell may provide DRS configuration information, which may indicate the timing of the DRS of the non-serving cells. The UE may use the DRS configuration information to measure the RSSI of the non-serving cells outside of their transmission bursts.

  • Patent number: 10803754
Abstract: Techniques are provided herein for procedures for establishing an aircraft-to-aircraft mesh network during flight using high-bandwidth directional communication beams. A first aircraft may be able to utilize flight data about a second aircraft to reduce a computational cost of a beam discovery procedure used to establish directional communication beams in the aircraft-to-aircraft mesh network. For example, the first aircraft may receive flight data (e.g., position information, heading, altitude, etc.) using an air traffic control system. The first aircraft may determine one or more predicted locations of the second aircraft based on the flight data. The first aircraft may use the predicted locations to transmit directional discovery beams to only those locations where the second aircraft is likely to be. Upon receiving at least one of the directional discovery beams, the second aircraft and the first aircraft may establish a communication link of the aircraft-to-aircraft mesh network.

  • Patent number: 10798642
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for on-demand system information (SI) delivery. In one novel aspect, an indicator in the minimum system information (MSI) indicates whether an SI or an SI group is delivered with broadcast or unicast. In one embodiment, the UE receives a MSI, obtains from the MSI the other SI (OSI) delivery mode indicator, and sends an on-demand SI request if the OSI delivery mode indicates the unicast delivery mode, otherwise acquires OSI information in a predefined or scheduled period if the OSI delivery mode indicates the broadcast delivery mode. In one embodiment, the delivery mode is unicast and the SI request is sent at a timing or resource explicitly configured in a SI change notification message. In another embodiment, the delivery mode is broadcast and updated SI is obtained based on the scheduling information included in the SI change notification message.
