  • Patent number: 11405645
Abstract: Transform kernel candidates including a vertical transform type associated with a vertical motion and a horizontal transform type associated with a horizontal motion can be encoded or decoded. During an encoding operation, a residual block of a current block is transformed according to a selected transform kernel candidate to produce a transform block. A probability model for encoding the selected transform kernel candidate is then identified based on neighbor transform blocks of the transform block. The selected transform kernel candidate is then encoded according to the probability model. During a decoding operation, the encoded transform kernel candidate is decoded using the probability model. The encoded transform block is then decoded by inverse transforming dequantized transform coefficients thereof according to the decoded transform kernel candidate.

  • Patent number: 11397417
Abstract: A robotic system automatically aligns, and/or tests alignment of, a lens to a digital camera or other workpiece. The system includes an optical target, an intermediate lens and a plurality of collimators peripheral to the intermediate lens to accommodate a wide range of fields of view of the workpieces, without requiring changes in equipment hardware. When manufacturing or testing a workpiece with a relatively narrow field of view, the entire field of view of the workpiece can be filled with a view of the target through the intermediate lens, and the collimators need not be used. However, when manufacturing or testing a camera having a relatively large field of view, the intermediate lens is used to fill a central portion of the field of view with an image of the target, and the collimators are used to fill a remaining portion of the field of view with images of reticles.

Abstract: A quantized transform coefficient matrix is partitioned into a sequence of partition portions. The coefficients of the matrix are grouped into the sequence of partition portions based on a hardware implemented scan order. Each partition portion is processed in an order of the sequence in a first pass. For each partition portion, a group of coefficients in the partition portion is determined. For each partition portion, a first data rate estimation for the quantized transform coefficient matrix is updated based on at least some coefficients of the group of coefficients in the partition portion and a maximum end-of-block. For each partition portion, an end-of-block estimation of the quantized transform coefficient matrix is updated based on at least some coefficients of the group of coefficients in the partition portion. A first resulting data rate estimation and a true end-of-block of the quantized transform coefficient matrix are determined after the first pass.

  • Patent number: 11368696
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to adaptive filtering, e.g. adaptive loop filtering, which may be used during encoding and decoding of video pictures. In particular, the present disclosure provides for determining a zero coefficients map, in which each bit indicates whether or not a respective filter coefficient of a supporting region is to be included into the bitstream for an adaptive filter. An indication of the zero coefficients map is included into the bitstream before at least one filter coefficient of the adaptive filter indicated by the zero coefficients map as to be included into the bitstream. The provision of a zero coefficients map enables an efficient signaling and allows for flexible filter shapes that are particularly suitable for the content at hand.
